After update to M my battery life has been fantastic. However the unit is aged to me. Want to get rid of it now, using it as a mini tv for toggle.com on my desk.

I just found out only this morning - auto-rotate does not work on my N7.

WiFi is not a problem though.

Upgraded to Android M more than a week ago.

reflash using fastboot, fastboot doesn't need root.

if you want something easier to use, try WUGfresh's NRT

Suddenly, there is no way for me to transfer files to my nexus 7 2013. Upon plugging in, can detect but cannot see the internal storage, tried different port and PC. I still managed to do so in Dec. From then till now never connect to PC, and only different is I updated it to latest firmware patch, Jan 2016 one...

I looked under the Settings > Storage USB > from there, I cant find any option to choose between MTP and PTP.

With one of the recent updates, you need to enable the data storage on your device itself. When you plug it into the usb port, a notification should come up on your tablet. Click that and choose I think the 2nd option.

I did a system reset, after that finally found what you said... luckily it is just a secondary tablet for my child.

I think Google have stop making Nexus 7... but I still hope they will change their mind. Nexus 7 2013 is the best tablet so far. Except that I still have the auto screen rotation issues after changed the motherboard...

i bought a new screen online and brought it to a shop and paid labour to install...total cost me around $100...still cheaper than what one stop shops charge
