guys, those of you who bought from Amazon, has production date June 2013, SSN D60KBC right?

Hmm from what I observed, those from Playstore are July 2013 with SSN D70KBC..

wonder why the difference, Amazon and other retailers getting the 'older' units.. while playstore gets the 'newer' sets..

OT here, now that we can use vpn to buy nexus 7 from US playstore, can we buy the playstore credit or gift card as well? Which is better? And what is the difference between this 2?

First off, i'm new to android.

On my Nexus 7, I'm encountering quite a lot of annoying ads. Sometimes there'll be some unwanted auto-installation of apps / links on the home screens as well. I remove them, and they keep coming back.

How do I put a stop to that? I've installed Adblock already (though my tablet has not been rooted yet).

I spend a total of USD387.79 + USD21.90. I used express delivery all the way so the delivery took 7 days (ordered on Sunday, got it today).

Yes there is free shipping but I used express so I paid extra.

Can't test it cuz I'm still in HK.

Just pre-order from OpenSurface will do. No hassle, no worries.

Pre-ordered on Saturday afternoon. Collect it from the store on Sunday evening. Right now I am having fun with it.

I am not related to OpenSurface btw. Just want to share my experience with you. Forget about vpn, credit card issue, shipping issue etc. Just get from them. Fast and simple

You preordered the LTE version on Saturday and got it on Sunday? Which LTE variant? UK or US?

You have installed one or more apps that spam ads.
Be more careful of what you download and read the permissions before installing them.

OpenSurface only brings in US version. I was lucky that I pre-ordered on Sat. and new stocks came in on Sun.

Anyway, I don't have LTE subscription but my 3G works fine.

For people who prefer a sleeve and use Nexus 7 without any TPU or similar, get tke a look at WaterField sleeve from sfbags.com.

Just got mine, have to say i love it alot. Simple + functional.

Made an order for the tablet from amazon on 15.9.13 an just arrived Singapore today. Its quite fast in my case for delivery made by i-parcel.

Arrived at destination and will be entered into the delivery stream after successful clearance,Sep 23 2013 9:36AM.

Personally, a case are recommended to protect the tablet, i.e. ASUS travel case, as sometime I maybe a little rough on it.

If the tablet is already protected by a case, then screen protector is just extra protection or some kind of insurance against minor scratches on the screen.

just to check, u guys think screen protector and case are necessary?
