Bro,

Thanks all so much for the answering my question and query :)

Maybe I'll just use my 2012 32 GIGS model as it already fully able to provide my needs for a Tablet at the moment. Just love it. Really A JOY to use. Used to own some MIC tablets. Those never come close to Nexus 2012. (No comment about the latest MIC one though. BUT the good ones high cost no longer justify a switch to MIC Tablet anymore).

HD Youtube videos(plus MTV clips) and Music videos on VeVo really looks very sharp, clear and good enjoyment to watch. HD movies looks much better on it then my BIG screen TV :)

I rooted mine and install free stick-mount to use Thumb drive via micro USB OTG when needed. Its quite a completed tablet already. Don't need a front camera as our Mobile phone already have good cam to take pictures when needed.:)

Perhaps I'll hold on and KIV my plan to upgrade to the new 2013 one due to curiosity not so much of need.

Maybe I'll give this 2013 model a past and waits for the 2014 model ha :)

Thanks.:D

I have both. Well, the specs for the 2013 version is definitely better, which you would have already found out.

Performance wise, i don't find a very big difference. More noticeable is the 2013 is thinner and lighter and the convenience of a rear camera.

Oh sorry to hear that.

Hope they can replace the defects the valid warranty.

The service center might suspect its due to unnatural causes due to user's negligence (drop or knocks) and not something related to workmanship related so might not replace it for free. Hopefully they does though. :)

When the item arrived, the crack wasn't there already or didn't notice ?

Anyway - best wishes.:)

My nexus has a slight screen tear (2 small fuzzled lines) at the top right hand side. Did a dead pixel test to confirm it.

Bought it from amazon but covered under local warranty.

Shld i change or repair it? Or just live with it?

Would like to hear your advice.

HI,

The obvious thing that can be spotted is the border on the 2012 one is broader. BUT the 2013 one is very slightly taller.

Would you be able to take a picture of both having the same wallpaper ?
say, both having that Nexus 2012 wallpaper :). That would be great and easier for us to spot the graphical differences. If its obvious.

Thanks for the earlier set of picture comparison of the 2 great tablets.
Hopefully you can help with this again :)

Thanks in advance bro, and Cheers.

Nexus 7 registration on Asus SG web

Hi,

Did anyone try and successfully register their Nexus 7 on Asus Singapore Website? I'm keep getting serial number incorrect message.

Or shall I register on Asus US website, or don't bother to register at all?

Can what, just don't mess up the 3rd S/N alphabet O with 0 (zero)..

https://account.asus.com/loginform.aspx?skey=d671ca486d33462c98d5fd73f78c07ad

1st time ASUS users need to create an account...

Thank you all for your kind respond..

I tried change the 3rd S/N from 0 to O (letter), but not working.
I double check mine on the Google Play invoice, is already printout as 0 (zero) not O (letter). Thanks.

I emailed Asus SG for assistance, but no help, because the serial number i have entered is correct. Why I'm so sure the serial number is correct? Judging from Asus Product Registration Website, after I enter the serial number, the product type (Eee Pad) & product name (Nexus 7 (2013)) is auto list out in the selection.

I'm asking Asus SG to help me to update this product into my account though. Have not reply me.

Anyway, thanks for the help.

Those who ordered the Nexus 7 from Amazon that got stuck with i-Parcel since Dec 6, how did you resolve that?

Amazon refunded the amount to me, and said that they will honour the original $199 price, and ask me to re-order with another seller and send them the order number.

The problem is, all other Nexus 7 sellers in Amazon does not ship direct to Singapore. I will have to use a freight forwarder. But that defeats the original deal I had earlier (US$199 + free shipping) to Singapore.

I wrote back to Amazon today asking them to propose a solution, with the condition that I get my replacement Nexus 7 at the original deal i.e. US$199 with free shipping to Singapore.

Did you guys just accepted the refund and that's it?

Mine was lost in transit. I was told to wait for Amazon to re-stock and they would honour the USD 199 deal. Told them I am being inconvenienced through no fault of mine. CSO told me to search for the same product from seller 'BuySPRY'. They ship internationally. Placed order and ended up the price was USD 270+. Amazon refunded about USD 70+ to trim the total amount back down to USD 199. Hence it's a two-part process. Overcharge and then refund.

Same thing happen with my nexus 7 shipment that was shipped out from NJ on 6 Dec. Est Delivery date was 13 Dec. Amazon CSO replied me that shipment is Lost in Transit and refunded me. Best option for you is to take the refund and wait for Amazon to offer their $199 with free shipment again and hope this time around it get delivered.

I tried several of the links the CSO suggested that I can buy from. But upon checkout when I select my Singapore address, I always get this message.

"...We're sorry. This item can't be shipped to your selected destination. You may either change the shipping address or delete the item from your order. .."

Did you ship to Singapore address from that seller 'BuySPRY'? I can't find a seller by that name else I would've tried to order from him and see if I still get the same shipment error message.

Yes that's another option. But I wish to get it fast. No sure how long they will restock.
