You mean to 4.4.3? On wifi the whole day.. No update.

Apparently Google has a system in place where they will update Nexus & Google Play Edition device in "batches" ... so you gotta wait for your turn...

My N7 (II) was from Amazon about 1 month plus after the initial launch sale. So I am not sure if that is the reason why I got my update earlier ...

in any case, below are the print screen to show it was done via OTA (not side load, root )

Anyone knows of anywhere else other than Asus that can do repairs?

Asus quoted me $350 to repair the charging board.

I saw the charging pin like break, then sent it in after my pc keeps prompting that power surge when it is plugged in.

wifi only or LTE set? i might have lobang

Check out simlim square 3 to fifth level along the corridors those mobile phone repair shop. Once I send my mobile phone with charging problem they change for me charge $35.

Tablet and Mobile phone's charging might be about the same, they might have alternative compatible charging ports for tablet. Try to look around and ask about.

The other place you may try is - ground floor of people's park complex.
Facing the food court side - there is a mobile phone sale and repair shop.
There is this china guy quite good in replacing faulty parts for mobile.
Can try asked the shop if they can check and quote u before doing.......the price can negotiate one. If can do between $30-$50 and get the charging port replaced and can charge with no problem, at least your problem solved :)

All this people price is $30 - $50 rarely more than that for parts replacement or repair. BUT for some parts of SL square also must be careful. There is one shop, if possible try to avoid. They repair branded phones and Tablet but their charge really slaughter - avoid 3-28 ....... but the only good thing is, they can check and quote ...no repair no charges....checking is free...

You can go around those 2 places i mentioned......take your time to discuss and get a quote... if its cheap.. you can decide...if its expensive...forget it... most of those shops- checking and assess is free- no repair no charges........or if they agree and give u a quote to repair, after replacing and the problem not resolved......no need to pay. and warranty of repair if they manage to do good range from 1 month to 6 months... mostly 1 month.. that exorbitant shop 3-28 .... charges very high fee but they seem to offer a longer warranty after repair...which are not necessary,,,

Just to share some method ....that might help someone someday :)

Most times when you have some problem with the Nexus 7. Either version or other tablets... try to do this...it might help........

->Off the Tablet.
-> When the Tablet is fully Off
-> Press-down the power button and Volume +
--> Just hold it till you get into "recovery mode"
--> Clear cache /factory reset
---> clear user data
---> Reboot Tablet

Usually such basic action helps. try not to reflash if its not necessary .
Minor boot-loop cause by installing or certain apps can be solve the way i mentioned.or for some reason, one day, you try to start your tablet, it just get stuck on the starting logo and stays there......

Off the Tablet by HOLDING down the "Power Button" only for about 12 seconds......then do the above action........

However if all your button you press did not restart/reboot your Tablet.

Get the SDK developer software that is available free.............
Once you get the SDK program...........locate in one of the folder a file call "fastboot" . Make a folder name it boot, place it on 'C drive" just have that "fastboot" file...........inside...

Plug your Tablet to your PC .... (always try to have your PC readily recognise your Tablet by installing the coret USB driver. And its good to leave the " USB debugging "checked".

Use your PC go to "command prompt"............

Run "cmd"

Once in the command prompt do a cd to the that c:/boot folder.
Once in directory is c:/boot
Type : fastboot reboot

Your Tablet should shut down and restart...........
Hopefully all goes back to normal :)

Just to share some info hopefully it helps someone......
BUT if thing get messy - don't blame me haha...........

BUT the above works 95% of the time...for Android phone and tablet of all brands including China made one... also can try..........

All this methods can do experiment.........can try no harm....
can try the "fastboot reboot" even when your Tablet have no problem...
Like a dry run, in case in future you encounter some situation you may have to get your tablet to reboot when for some technical reason, or faulty apps installed ......cause Tablet to misbehave...... the method could help you get out of certain situation.

Cheers.

Hi,

No additional update, this it the one and only ...

I did experience a few random freeze and reboot (rather frequent), touch screen issues - i cant unlock the tablet., just in the past 2-3 weeks ...

really dun know why / what happen ... I keep my Nexus 7(II) really "clean", Norton Anti Virus scanner, etc, I only use key essential apps ... no random apps / games ... ( if wana try new apps - i will use my ZenFone 5)

so far, since updating to 4.4.3, N7 (II) looks ok ... nothing usual .. will keep monitoring ...

Err... the 7 in the Nexus 7 refers to the size of the tablet. You mean Nexus 7 mk3? The current one is referred to as Nexus 7 (2013) since there's an earlier version.
