Hi ykeen, yes I'm using a multiSIM for my N7. Mine is the 2013 version, but your link doesn't seem to point to any APN settings? I found this link: www.hardwarezone.com.sg - View Single Post - Google Nexus 7 Thread but this is for the 2012..tried to enter these APN settings but still can't work.

Which telco u on? Just follow the same APN as your Nexus 5 lor (if thats ur main SIM)..

Go to Settings, Wireless & Networks, More, Mobile Networks, Access Point Names, Tap the existing entry to edit, the only thing that requires changing is the APN:

If Singtel:
e-ideas

If M1:
sunsurf

If Starhub,
shwap

(Click the + Sign to create new entry if there are no entries defined for APN at all. Only Name, and APN need to be entered)

every other entry proxy/blah blah do not need to be entered.. for your cellular data connection to work.

Am on SingTel, but the funny thing is that when I try to save the entered APN, there is nothing saved at all, and when I go back to check the APN nothing is there.

Try factory reset? Flash latest image from Google? Not sure why, my N7 2013 is Wifi-only so can't help you there...

Try asking in the correct thread (the 2013 Nexus thread) or.. perhaps check in XDA.. or Google..

I've tried factory reset, and am already on stock 4.4.4 Android (updated as soon as I got the tablet)

I've posted the problem in the 2013 Nexus 7 thread, hopefully can get some answers. But as always, appreciate your kind help!

My device finally gave way last week. Unable to boot up. Power + volume button doesn't work. Suspect might be the problem of not able to charge so opened up the back cover and re-seated all the cables related but to no avail.

My mum mentioned the Nexus 7 tends to black-out time to time before this happen. Does anybody knows whether there are anything else I should experiment on before I declare it officially dead?

My nexus 7 ran into charging problem after 10 months. This is partly caused by my kid bending the charger while inserted into the charging port. Tried applying pressure initially to get it to charge. Even remove the cover and disconnect the battery and reconnect again. Work for some but not for me. So end up bought a Qi wireless charger and it help to solve the problem.

Just for sharing in case people face the same problem.

I just tried it and it works!
Can't find any small cross screwdriver for the screws inside and had to use a penknife to unscrew.

Anyway now it remembers how to charge again.

EDIT:
Lasted 1 week plus than not charging again.
Just opened it again to redo the steps.
Note that theres a flap to lift up before taking out the usb+audio jack part, see step 12 here:

did you do any scraping off the oxides or use eraser to rub rub the contacts? or just merely reseating the connections again?

I opened up, and reseated all connections, still doesn't work.. unable to charge or power on the set..

wonder wanna buy the USB + speaker flex cable replacement or not...

Qi charger can work means yours is Nexus 7 2013 version.. with Qi support.. this thread is Nexus 7 2012 version doesn't support Qi though...

I did rub with a rubber strip by stripping off an edge of a eraser.

Anyway the problem came back again 2 days ago.
Somehow I feel that the ribbon that feeds into the usb board is too short.
Or got some design flaw in that connection.

Luckily I still have the hopefully more reliable Nexus 7 2013.

could have been the FSTRIM problem.. even though Kitkat is supposed to do it internally, but sometimes it still get slow... try Lagfix but requires root..

As much as I'm interested to get, But did a search online it says this model is having lots of problem from connectivity to charging problem. Can anyone confirm?

I don't have such problem but i did have issue where few times it doesn't turn on when the battery is flat and charging it didn't seem to do anything and i need to plug, unplug, charge and whatever combi you can think of then heng it will turn on. That was when it was barely 6 months. Now i don't let my tablet go flat or flat for too long.

I would say, if you cannot stand lag, don't go for it. Cos i think the hardware is not good enough for stuff nowadays anymore. But if you just use social apps, watch movie or read ebooks then i think ok. Web surfing is not really good too, with all the heavy multimedia, it lags like hell.

Connectivity wise, no issue with 3G and Wifi, none at all. I would say the only complain is the battery thing and the lag.

I'm still using it, waiting for a more solid one cos Android tablets has always been rather bad in performance unlike their phones. The Galaxy Tab S series seem to be the better ones and now the upcoming Nexus 9. But it's rather ex so i wana wait.

Besides, i also wanna wait for Nov 3 to get the Lollipop and see how my Nexus 7 will perform under it.

Been looking around.
Another way to charge is via the pogo connection used by the official dock.

There are people building their custom charging docks on XDA:
Nexus 7 POGO GPIO PINS on Side | Nexus 7 | XDA Forums

But I don't know where to find the pogo pins and how to use them.

I tried stripping a USB cable and touching the Power and Ground to the correct contact and the tablet did show as charging but can't really charge without the construct.
