Some camera samples. 4a seems to have slightly warmer colour, seems to lift the shadows a little bit more than the 4 as well, and in lowlight it's not as saturated. Kinda like it a bit more?
:s13:
But definitely loses out when it comes to portrait mode and telephoto.

A few more shots and thoughts. Basically the camera performance is comparable to flagship devices, and almost unbeatable in this price range (unless you consider a used Pixel 3 lol). Front camera is good, but not great though. The nice thing about Pixel camera is basically just how easy it is to get nice looking shots because the image processing just makes it so brainless. just point and shoot only.

it's only 1 camera, but it's a really good one. With super res zoom, 2x is still usable, and digital zoom to get macro shots already pawn those 2MP potato macro camera deep deep. No ultrawide, but then in mid range category, most ultra wide cams are bad anyway. Even something like the iPhone 11 the ultrawide is only useful in good lighting and useless in low light also. So I don't think it's a deal breaker also.

Thanks Alex! You mentioned that the front camera is good, but not great. What were you comparing to huh? How does the front camera compare to Pixel 4? I personally find Pixel 4's front camera worse off than Pixel 2 and 3 based on recollection.

Comparing it to like the Pixel 4. haha. Pixel 2/3's front cam were sharper, more detailed, but just that skins tones aren't as good. So i feel like if don't pixel peep too much, still considered good. but then the sensor itself is probably ****. A guess of mine is also that for 4a, the fixed focus lens' nearest focusing distance is not near enough (or maybe my arms too short. lol) so a lot of shot it looks like my face is slightly out of focus, but background is actually more in focus.

anyway, also in comparison, something in the same price range like realme xt, the sensor in the front cam is definitely more capable, just that it doesn't have the consistency of google processing in terms of colours and skin tones. lol.

Is the screen brightness still as dark compared to other phones?

screen brightness is better than pixel 4 outdoor, and i find it easy to use under the sun still.

Alex did you use the Google camera app?
If so, under what mode?

It's mostly just in full auto mode for these shot in the stock google camera app. the close up shots of the phone cameras i think i used a bit of digital zoom. the 3rd shot is night sight mode.

Is Samsung still the only manufacturer with autofocus selfie camera?

honestly i did think of that... but $$
The battery life for p4 is really bad. Advise you not to especially pixel 4 is EOL now. When you want to sell away you gonna be receiving lousy offers.

I was lucky to sell off mine to an angmo recently. Used for a few weeks and sold off at a loss of approx $40 if I factor in the case + TG. The selling price was the same as my purchase price
