2) Slap on nova launcher = pure android experience?

The best you can get to a clean android would probably be oneplus and slapping a gcam app to it doesnt improve the IQ until pixel level..

I think the point is for some who r used to flagship features, may be not easy to downgrade

I'm a 3a user. The polycarbonate on 3a feels n looks premium. Is 4a same material?

I'm downgraded from Pixel 4XL to 4a due to the form factor hehe.

I have 3a as well, not sure about the materials since it was on dbrand since day one but from the fingerprint, I think 3a material is better.

Very good, the feel in hand is superb. My Pixel 3XL also using the same Vault series, but the feel is not as good as the 4a, think is bacause of the form factor.
I also have a X-Level ultra thin case, though is thinner than the Vault, but the feel in hand is not as good as the Vault.

I’ve always been using flagship phones. This time round choose 4a. Got to demo the phone at challenger and feels great holding and using it.

I use this... https://www.wazzapmigrator.com/
In general,
1) Backup via iTunes (without encryption)
2) Use the migrator to extract the chatstorage
3) Install wazzap from play store
4) Start migration
5) Install lower version of Whatsapp
6) Configure Whatsapp and select backup
7) After done, uninstall Whatsapp
8) Download Whatsapp from Play Store and select local backup again.

The red OnePlus Dash Charge cable won't even charge the Pixel 4a. It's as if you didn't plug in anything.

I use the normal 18W PD charger (using the one that came with iPhone 11 Pro and a 3rd party C-to-C cable)... charges rapidly

iphones and samsung notes.... the only google phone i've ever used is the nexus 2P.

Out of the box is Android 11, but got additional patch or update (1.58gb) also on Android 11.

Anyone got stuck installing this update? Or does it take a very long time despite being only 1.58GB? Mine has been "Installing system update..." for some time.
