Hi has anyone unlocked the bootloader yet?

Out of curiosity, why do you need bootloader unlocked ?

Ever since Android Nougat/Oreo, I haven't felt the need to unlock BL for features.

Only require to unlock BL if device has no more updates and want to install custom rom.

My last Google phone was the Nexus 6. At that time I vaguely remember that to unlock the bl is safer in case certain situations arise eg an ota goes bad that require you to fastboot flash back to stock but if you already cannot boot up you can't tick the usb debugging and oem unlock to unlock bl. This is also the case for my current Mi A2 . That's why I am asking. Thanks

For quite some time Google has "A/B (Seamless) System Updates" from Android source site, it basically prevents bad updates from bricking devices. Been around for sometime alr

Thanks, so as long as I want to run stock it is safe to remain bootloader locked? Really appreciate it.

This phone support dual sim standby? e.g.: eSim using local telco, nano Sim using Malaysia Sim.

Anybody ordered from Google Store and got it earlier than the stated delivery date? It states 30 Sep - 1 Oct but by then, walk in purchase will probably be allowed
