Same here! Had the nexus 6p and the Google 1st Gen pixel. Also trying to move away from Samsung for dumping the exynos chipsets on us taking us for fools. Not gonna spend on them to increase their coffers further. Waiting to see how the pixel 5 5g details would be like.

Nah, wanna move away from Samsung. I like the Pixel Experience. The last time I had a Google phone was the 6P and I loved it. So can't wait to get back on that. Plus I miss rooting and flashing a custom rom/kernel.

Anyone here hoping that Google change their decision and launch pixel 5 officially to SG? Is there still a chance?

funny enough since my Nexus S i had never considered any other line of phones and have stayed on until my current 3XL :|

FE's specs are nice but somehow doesn't entice me

Nope, non premium materials and just shafting the SD865 inside with a cheap plastic back and expect consumers to just suck it up? Nah, no more samsuck for me.

I personally prefer premium plastic over glass phones as lighter and less chance plug breakage.

Google knows how to make plastic feel premium. Tomorrow, we will see how much is the difference between a plastic vs glass pixel sd765g phone.

If ever change, I doubt the sale will happen so fast.

Probably a few months later.

For me, this is a good reason to skip P5. I will not import anymore considering any potential issues.

I think the chance is slim.

BTW Pixel 5 price has been leaked in Taiwan. TWD 18,990, about SGD $900.

SGD $900 like not worth if compare with pixel 4a, plus need to pay taxes etc to import in...so will be $1k

Processor is also mid range like pixel 4a
Main camera also same, they only add ultra wide camera

Only benefit is 90hz screen and bigger display and bigger battery
All these for extra $400-$500 :s22::s22:

I think the price is based the price in the US. Pixel 5 might cost USD$649.

With Google's track record I seriously don't think I want to risk the lack of warranty.

Yes if u convert to SGD directly will be estimate $900, but u need to add on GST and shipping charges etc.
Not really true. Taiwan's Pixel 4a is about SGD$560 and Singapore is $499. And now Pixels 5 in Taiwan is about SGD$900 so I guess Singapore will be around $869 if Google decided to launch in Singapore lol.

imho... if Google doesn't bring bring to SG.. pointless to self import

1) google's phone reliability is fakey at best... local warranty is definitely needed
2) this is not a 300+ buy where if spoil can just throw away
3) highly unlikely the local telcos will support it's 5G function. So buy a 5G phone and use as a 4G or worst as a 3G. A bit cum gong right?

So why buy a pixel?
1) very latest android. imho best android user experience
2) idiot proof camera and imaging qualities

the above can be found all existing P2/P3/P4 phones..

so unless backside itchy and seriously need to scratch the itch. really no reason to self import.
