I expecting it to be way higher since the tech site saying they are finally making a flagship (as if I spent >1k on both P2 XL & P4 like it's a low end budget phone zzzzz

If the phone is going to be updated for say 3-4 yrs and never get 5G support here, then I think it's not worth it for those who is looking to use it on 5G networks.

For me, I won't base any of my purchase decision on 5G as I won't be subscribing to it.
In any case, it's not like there are non-5G version of Pixel 6 that is cheaper, just a question of whether to buy Pixel or other brand.

5G is not much of big issue for me because there isn't time when I'm on my phone and feeling like "Gosh I wish I have 5G so I can download this PDF in 0.01 second!", LTE is good enough for all my usage..

4-5 years of software support would be great, especially coming from Google itself you know there'll be continuous improvement on the pixel.. but again let's wait for the actual release to see how.. If I were to switch to Android as secondary phone - I might want to look at 2nd hand P5 instead

I was using P2 XL previously and currently using P4 (skipped P3 because because the difference is not that obvious)...

I currently also have iPhone SE (2016) as secondary phone and was surprised how even now it'll get a latest iOS update so I'm seriously considering to change to iPhone as the primary phone because Google doesn't really show much perk of being Pixel user :/ shall see what Pixel 6 will bring to the table

as mentioned, google is always experimenting stuff and seem not serious or never do sufficient research, then just launch to guinea pigs to try lo. or flip flop here there v undecisive. this is sth i don't like as this is a sign of no clear direction

iphones can get 5yrs update bc of their powerful bionic chip, that's why i always advocate ppl to get flagship android (if budget allows). midrange phones lower specs don't age well and lag/stutter easily after a year or two, but if price is right then ok for 2yr usage. $$ is a v important decision factor too. fortunately, snapdragon chipsets improved a lottt where manufacturers now offer 3-4yrs os updates. anything >4yrs is overkilled bc by then battery cui and about time for a new phone with significant upgrades in design/features

if you're good with ios or android, i feel iphone is a better value if both are equally expensive. if not happy then sell and get pixel 6, 7 or 8 later on. for me ios doesn't bode well with me so i stick with android, but then this google pixel is really a big let down the moment it's not launching here i'm leaning towards pixel 5a but see their reviews first no exciting phones this yr sigh

4g good enough for now. not really need to send/receive food photos and any media at blazing fast speed. so desperate to see cat/dog photo/videos meh? at home got wifi d/l netflix movie to phone

Shouldn't really be a consideration unless you only change phone after more than 5 years

That's up to individual. I will probably change phones way before I even go on to 5G plans

You ask those who buy NFTs in millions of dollars. Or those who buy expensive bags or watches.

Pixels are not really luxury. But I value the clean Android experience more. And also a little bit more due to loyalty. I already had 5X, P1, P2 and P4. So P6 is my next most likely upgrade.

I also make investments in stocks and cryptos. This is then I will see more to value and fundamentals.
