My Amazon UK pre order just updated eta to early Jan. Not in a rush to receive it though, will play2 with my P6 from Qoo10 first. About ~S$1423 all in after direct conversion + direct from Amazon w/o any 3rd party. From my experience they do accept orders from time to time but you need to keep checking the product pages.

Still more ex than us models. But since it's direct so just pay more less of a hassle.

wow i still rmb i almost bought nexus 5 as the phones weren't expensive back then, but can't rmb why no fate

at the same time, very obvious that google isn't serious in making their own smartphones (even now)

google wants to venture into foldable phones which is said to be the future, but right now i don't find it appealing at all. so bulky with the fold line in the middle. i don't believe that is the future smartphone... rather it makes more sense to instead make folding screen for tablets so students or doing client presentation. i prefer phone to be pocketable. oops i digress lol

now i just want my pixel 6 to launch in sg asap :(

The only thing i hate abt the n5 was the black rubbery texture. the frame cracked and the sticky rubber was a mess under our harsh weather. the white model is ok though.

The foldable technology is still in its infancy espeailly the screen. our nails can easily scratch and damage it. big no-no.

Yeah hope the p6 series come sooner.

Just got my p6p 2 days ago. A friend got it for me on her way back go SG.

I'm a pretty standard user occasionally using social media apps and heavy user of texting apps such as telegram and WhatsApp. Thoughts on it are as follows;

1) camera - 9.9/10 (best thing about the phone - no surprises)
I usually only do still shots, portraits and the results are great. Consistent getting very usable shots.

2) UI - 8.5 / 10
Overall UX using the phone was hit and miss. Noticed quite a few drop frame rates here and there especially on telegram but realized it was due to a setting issue which was easily solved. But still not the best experience. Even my 1.5 y.o. OnePlus 8 pro is as good or even better perhaps due to a more stable firmware. Hopefully with time, this should improve with firmware updates. Oxygen OS still ahead of vanilla android 12 at the moment IMO

3) battery life - 7.5/10
Slightly better than average battery life. First day battery drain was horrendous. Second day was better perhaps due to adaptive battery usage as some reviewers have mentioned. Think it will get better. Optimistic about the battery life.

HOWEVER,

Charging speed is bad if you don't have a PPD 30W charger. (which I don't) - you can probably find reviews out there talking about this. Gives me anxiety to step out of the house if I don't have at least 60% battery. Lol. But that's just me. I can barely get the charge up with my pixel 2 -- 18w charger.

Put your phone into airplane mode (charges more quickly) and reduce amount of time needed for a full charge.

That's why the red N5 was the iconic model then..

Do you think its worth the upgrade over the OP8 Pro? Using it currently, sitting on the fence as to whether I should buy the P6P given the whole ColourOS situation

I think this is Android 12 problem but can someone try to install iroad (last updated Nov 2021) from app store? Is for car cam usage. I cannot install this on both 4xl n 6 Pro running A12 but my 2XL with A11 is able to. Thanks.

TBH I don't think so - i came from a OP7T with big expectations over OOS as it's already near stock, but the only things that's impressed me so far is the camera (obviously) and the improved batt life. Using P6. Miss the dual-SIM functionality but I'll live with it.

My camera on OP8 pro was faulty and getting really annoying. Hence I decided to change + I've been a pixel fan, owning every iteration from pixel 1 - 4 except 5.

If you are okay with your camera on OP8 Pro and can live with a 7.5/10 camera quality. I would say it's not worth it. OnePlus 8 pro warp charge is something I really miss. I would only consider the camera as the real upgrade. OP8 pro is still gives me a better user experience at the moment with a more thoughtful and usable UI

Pixel SG is missing out on a lot of things like Google Assistant voice typing on text messages and 5G.
