I am happy that i got a google pixel 6a (GX7AS) and updated it from android 12 to 13 with full security patches dated 5 May 2023. I put in the old TPG sim card and tested the native dialer to make out going calls and try receive in coming calls and sms and mobile internet access all ok without me making any manual setting to the telco configuration. I also see that there is an option for you to turn on/off for VoLTE function under settings. Few days back when I went to Simba customer service at Kaki Bukit the counter aunty tell me that google pixel 6a cannot work with Volte but I guess she is wrong. :D

The 6a IS officially supported and it's just listed under "others" on their compatibility chart.

Actually if I never google it , I would never know to search under "others". Because if I searched using Google or Pixel yielded no results.

Good deal for those who don't need to be on latest hardware. Hand down, best phone camera for $4xx.

Sometimes I do experience excessive battery drain but can't put it to the cause of any particular apps. But normally during the times it does, often it is because of occasional slow battery charging rate resulting in the higher battery drain running the battery faster than the charging.
The problem is inconsistency with google os. even with a factory reset, the phone with stock apps still drains at a fast pace. the software is the issue, and older pixel devices experiencing battery problems have been abandoned since software support ended for them

Is this going to be your main phone or will you keep another phone for personal use ?
Seems a waste buying a phone with one of the best cameras only to remove them.

This is more like my spare phone. I have another main phone for personal use.
