This menu is useless one, my Pixel 4a last time also show activated on Giga but still drop to 3G during calls. Best to way confirm is just to make a call and see if it stays on 4G LTE.

SIM replaced and SH customer care told me that volte is provisioned backend.

But still not volte.

What is your carrier settings version? Mine is 42000000006.10 2022-09-23. Wonder if this matters.

My photo unblur featured disappeared and camera lagged after the new update for Pixel 7. I tried to reinstall Google photos and camera twice also cannot solve. It caused me to lose data in locked folder...

So I left it there for 30 mins or so then all the function back to normal. Is it common to happen after each Android update?

TBH, VoLTE is quite irrelevant nowadays. My calls are mostly from Meet, Whatsapp or Teams.
Calling using my phone are for delivery, marketing folks and scams.

The telcos all thought they could charge more with MMS, VoLTE and Video Calls. End up everyone just move on to other means.

Same n if u check carrier services app from play store then it is carrierservices.android_20221107_00_RC00.phone

Under settings, network and internet, sims, do u see wifi calling? Or from dialer, *#*#4636#*#*, phone information, is your volte provisioned and wifi calling provisioned turn on despite being greyed out? If the phone detected the sim correctly, it will toggle on automatically even though being greyed out.

If not, do a sw reset with the new sim? Maybe the initialisation was not done properly previously.

Yes for those line that comes with unlimited talk time n limited data, volte is still useful. WA has its limitations. Eg user is not online but caller won't know when making the call except thinking how come the user dun pick up....

And it's useful if u wanna make call to landline too especially if u hv old folks at home.

No idea... I only chanced upon this. Didn't go in-depth into it.
Seems the project was done quite some time back. AA is quite sensitive to connectivity stability. If it is not done properly will hv lot of disconnection which is dangerous while driving if u are using the navigation app.

Nah. It is definitely still a long way to go. Coming from where my statistics come from, VoLTE is here to stay. And Telco won't spent even more money on VoNR 5G calls if VoLTE is not relevant.

The one thing for sure, Voip calls such as from Whatsapp/teams/Meet etc are still very unreliable in a sense that they can tend to go laggy or when the data at the area is very poor, they tend to skip or go lower sampling rate voice causing the voice to be muffled at times. Another good example voip to a user in overseas. This at times you can hear the extra slowness when you talking to a person. Or you can even hear echo on what you said.

Unlike the traditional volte. Although it is semi like voip calls. It is digital sampling of our voice over the LTE network. It is much clearer and cleaner than voip, despite even if the base stations are congested network. And it is much more reliable in terms of overseas calls such as call latency and call clarity. And even if the network is totally congested, calls are still ongoing, voice sampling may drop but the very least, your calls won't get disconnected, but just not crystal clear voice. The only time it will drop call is when the network is too pour and you got no reception at all. Or when the network is really faulty.

IIRC, VoLTE needs both ends to be using VoLTE enabled phones. Calling land line won't activate VoLTE.

Used to be true. But now no need. Now even if one end got volte enabled. The user will still get clear calls. But the other party on landline will not get clearer calls.
