Using P7. For me, the battery life became very good after about 2-3 weeks of use. No battery anxiety. Like its size just nice not too big not too small.

what's the overnight drain like? 5%?

I'm more inclined towards the 7 (non-pro) as well as it's my first pixel and I want to start with something basic and also small and light.

Haven't yet before overnight without using. It's small but not exactly light.

okay lah.. it's below 200g so to me is light enough. nowadays new phones weigh a brick and really an eye sore when putting in pockets.

wonder if I should wait for tensor g3 actually... g2 is machiam like g1+ (same 5nm chip). the jump might be bigger in g3.

G3 don't know when coming out also. Maybe I try s23 when it comes out.

For those who have been using P7 or P7P for two months now... I believe adaptive battery would have kicked in for some time already. Just wondering what their sentiments are like.

I don't suffer from any apps kill issues for my oppo phone... so not sure what's the concern actually.

But given that pixels already don't enjoy fast charging like oppo, if the battery drain is so bad, it's really a 'double whammy'. Hopefully those who have been using for 2 months already can give an objective review, cos I'm actually quite keen on P7 series 😊
Coming from a Oneplus 7T. The phone needed me to baby it so that it can last a full day, this is especially so on 90hz refresh rate.

With my P7P, even on high refresh, I can easily last a full day. This is even though a lot of benechmarks state that the 7T last longer. This is very much depends on how people use their phone. I read a lot more than watch videos, so I could take advantage of the Lpto display on the P7P.

This is the reason why I got P7P over the P7.

thanks for sharing! I just wish the other brands can quickly roll out sd gen 2 so there are more options to consider.

in the meantime, will read up more about performance of tensor g2.

One thing, you are coming from Oppo. You might not be used to Vanilla android. Even people like who came from Oneplus who used to be known for near vanilla Android, also need time to adapt.

I've seen quite a handful of complaints in pixel reddit, from Samsung former users, complaining abt the lack of customization.

Unless you are not touching your display most of the time, LTPO is not a significant factor in battery savings. Ultimately, bigger battery = better battery life. However, I do want manufacturers to bring LTPO to 90hz dsplays. That would be the sweet spot in terms of battery life and performance.

Google are focusing more on ML and AI with Tensor. if you are looking for pure raw performance, SD8 Gen 2 or Bionic A16 are the better SoC.

Google not aiming to win any benchmarks. as long as there's overall improvement for performance, AI capabilities, and efficiency of the chipset

Been using P7 since November. Noted that if I enabled 5g (NSA), I lost 15-20% overnight, if I restrict it to LTE, I lost only 4-5%. So, to me 5g is the culprit. I'm using singtel gomo just fyi.

I'm also on gomo :) it's strange that 5g sucks more battery when Singtel has been advertising that 5g is much more efficient than 4g (or are they just referring to their own hardware?).

just wondering if volte may also be a factor?

I believed 5G SA is more efficient, not 5G NSA. I never had a chance to try out 5G SA though. As for VoLTE, I guess it only matters if you make lots of calls?

not sure if the recent battery drain I've been observing is due to the latest update, previous drain is around 5% overnight so this seems quite drastic 1 week into the new update... will continue to monitor ba, hope it gets better.

Battery life wise is pretty good so far during normal usage, never really experience heating issues when I play Pokémon Go for like an hour

switched to a cheap tempered glass screen protector from shopee, fingerprint scanner doesn't work lol... Doesn't seem to want to read the fingerprint to register 😵, it always prompts to press firmer and always fails to register

Saw ibywind has finally released, anyone got theirs yet? How's the fingerprint reader?

Yes, only touch to flip page. Reaching ebook. So LTPO display really shines for such usage. That's why I changed my mind to get the Pro instead.
