i need help. when i tried to sms my mother (please dont ask why i use sms, they old ppl, not good with technology), idk why it change to RCS instead of SMS option. how do i disable or switch to SMS option instead?

With RCS turned off, the messages you send and receive revert to traditional SMS until you activate RCS again

Tap your profile icon > Select Messages settings > Select RCS chats and turn it off

thanks, no wonder when i go out, like why it auto change to RCS chats when i just want default sms.
what's RCS chat? it's like messaging between iphone (dont know what aircloud or icloud) but pixel version?

Yes, similar to iMessage, WhatsApp, Telegram etc.

Where did you store your contactless bank card if you just tap your phone to pay?
What other wireless payment are you referring?

Oh right, I used it to add card and never touch again.

Yup... Gpay seems more refined than wallet at the moment

I hope Google can combine the features of these 2 apps into 1 eventually.

Just like to find out from more experience Pixel 8 users here, is there way to have a shortcut or app that I could just touch to lock screen instead of using the power button.

The app I get from Play Store usually needs Lock Screen Service which my anti virus app prompt me that app with this permission is able to peak at my screen, my HSBC app also will not start if there is any app with this permission as they see it as security risk.

My previous phone has a rooted app that lock screen and does not need special permission

Unfortunately all these 3rd party lock screen apps need accessibility service and don't play well with all the local banking apps. Some banking apps have even started to request that Developer options be toggled off in order to work.

Currently im using the Android Accessibility menu function to lock the screen and adjust volume without clicking on the buttons

rcs think doesn't use sms quota. the other person's phone think must be Android

Good riddance so when selling phone the buyer cannot ask for "battery cycle count".
