Not everything is about the benchmarks, how bad can Pixel 8 series be. Have some confidence in Google.

Pixel 6 onwards still be quite okay. Don’t worry too much, buy liao just use, don’t think too much, is a flagship phone, how bad can it be right?

How to define battery life bad, it’s up to individual usage and apps background pattern.

Some say 4-5hrs SOT very good battery life while others say that so bad, some say 6-7hrs SOT is very good battery life and so on…use first, enjoy and talk later.

Reviews is just a review, why listen to review when you yourself can test it yourself. Review is a guide not a holy bible that you die die must also hit their results then consider is good. They are they, you are you.

Android 14 improved battery life on older devices, probably works well for 8 and 8 Pro too.

That last sentence can be your famous last words also hahahaha.

But this new direction in mobile computing they are taking is really refreshing. Especially since others have hit a bottleneck in the race for ever more powerful CPU in a mobile phone without a better cooling system.

Now it's just time to see how much their improvements in the G3 TPU and machine learning models processing capabilities will translate to improving user experience that we care about, such as better battery life, less heat and smoothness of OS etc.

But I'm happy to give them a vote of confidence with my wallet lah because I like what I see.

Why need to toggle the NFC? Let it on forever, like with iPhone is on forever but low power mode, bring in a MRZ reader app and can even read passport info or trigger Apple Pay then can immediately do payment, no need what toggle ON/OFF so troublesome and waste of time.

It’s much easier for contactless payment, and when taking transport. Same as my Z Fold 4, I don’t turn off the NFC, BT and WiFi so things will connect automatically, for also wireless apple airplay and android auto and wireless earbuds seamless device switch.
Same, I leave everything on. Too much of a hassle keep needing to remember to on and off functions. So far never had any issues.

Yup same experience. When using phone the battery life is pretty good, less drain. Heat also less. But 5G battery life so far is really bad. Side by side S23+ like 15-20%.
