TL;DR
  • Leaked renders show the official silicone cases for the Pixel 9a.
  • The design appears to be very similar to the cases for the rest of the Pixel 9 series, only without a raised edge around the camera.
  • The case will be available in four colorways, matching the phone.

The Google Pixel 9a will allegedly launch in a little over a month, and unsurprisingly, almost everything about it has already been leaked. From the official wallpapers to full specs sheets, there is little we don’t already know. Today, thanks to a source inside Google, Android Authority is able to fill one of the few remaining holes by revealing the official case designs.

The leaked case design isn’t really anything surprising — it’s simply the same generally liked Pixel 9 design, except without the raised edge around the camera, as the Pixel 9a does away with the protruding camera bar. The case has soft silicone on the outside and microfiber lining on the inside. There’s also a “Pixel” branding inside and Google’s “G” logo on the outside.

It will likely come in at least four colors, matching the phone variants, although the marketing names are not final:
  • Peony — Pink
  • Obsidian — Black
  • Iris — Purple
  • Porcelain — White
For reference, the official Pixel 8a cases retail for $29.99 on Google’s website.

The Pixel 9a is rumored to launch in March, with preorders starting on March 19. More information on these cases is not yet known. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more through leaks.

We have exclusive renders of the upcoming Pixel 9a, which is slated to launch on March 19. It’ll sport a flat camera bump and the largest battery ever in a Pixel. The Google Pixel 9a will come in four colors, with a starting price of $499.

Google is set to announce the Pixel 9a next month, with an official announcement date of March 19, and a release date of March 26, as we’ve already exclusively unveiled. We also know that Google is planning a small redesign this year. However, instead of having a flat camera bar like the rest of the Pixel 9 lineup, it’s going to be flush with the back of the phone. And now, we can share official renders of all four colors of the Pixel 9a.

As we’ve mentioned before, the Pixel 9a will come in Peony, Iris, Obsidian and Porcelain colors. This is very similar to the rest of the Pixel 9 lineup. This year, the Pixel 9a is going to be getting a little bit larger, with dimensions of 154 x 73 x 8.9mm. Though, for good reason. As the Pixel 9a is also getting a major battery capacity increase to 5,100mAh. That would give the Pixel 9a the largest battery ever put into a Pixel phone – and ironically, larger than the $1,299 Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. Google is keeping charging speeds the same, 23W wired and 7.5W wireless.

Pixel 9a pre-orders open on March 19, starting at $499

Google is going to open pre-orders for the Pixel 9a on March 19, shortly after the announcement. We have also been able to confirm that it will be sticking with its $499 price tag this year. With the 256GB model going for $599. Making this a real contender for the best smartphone under $500, even with the new iPhone SE coming real soon.
Google has also changed up the cameras this year. The company is ditching the 64-megapixel main sensor for a new 48-megapixel main sensor. This sensor does have an f/1.7 aperture and has a sensor size of 1/2″. The ultrawide is still a 13-megapixel sensor and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. Google hasn’t decided to add a telephoto in place of the ultrawide, however.

my eyes... the bezels...
Haha, yeah, they’re thicc

Bezels like that, smaller screener but still thick and heavy, downgraded to small 1/2" camera sensor

2 hour charging charger not included, midrange performance, modem and battery life, 128GB of ufs 3.1

Really have to like Sundar Pichai alot to buy this phone @ $799
Yeah, for $799, it's a tough sell. that 2-hour charging and 128GB UFS 3.1 in 2025? Google really testing Pixel fans' loyalty 😅

Google’s Pixel 9a is coming out soon, and a new leak has officially detailed virtually everything about the device with a details rundown of the specs, pricing, and high-res pictures of all four colors.

We’ve already heard a lot about the Pixel 9a, but a new leak from WinFuture wraps everything up with a bow on top, providing a detailed look at the Pixel 9a specs and other key details.

That starts with the measurements of Google’s new mid-range smartphone, which have grown compared to the prior generation. Where the Pixel 8a measured in at 152.1 x 72.7 x 8.9 mm, the Pixel 9a measures 154.7 x 73.3 x 8.9 mm. That makes room for a bigger battery – 5,100 mAh, as previously reported – as well as a bigger 6.3-inch display. The Pixel 8a had a 6.1-inch display. The new size more closely aligns with the standard Pixel 9 and the Pixel 9 Pro. The display carries a resolution of 2424×1080 with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 3 on top. This is easily the best look we’ve had at the bezels, too, which are significantly larger than the rest of the Pixel 9 series. We previously had a peek at the bezels, but the wallpaper of the device somewhat obfuscated the size. Very similar renders hit the web last week, but at a lower resolution.

Remarkably, the Pixel 9a actually weighs less than the Pixel 8a, coming in at 185.9g to the Pixel 9a’s 188g.

A notable hardware upgrade is an IP68 dust/water resistance rating, up from IP67.

Under the hood, Google Tensor G4 runs the show (previously rumored to have a different modem from the rest of the Pixel 9 series) with 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage. Android 15 is available at launch – making this the first Pixel release with Android 15 out of the box – with 7 years of OS updates.

The dual-camera array on the back, which ditches the iconic Pixel “camera bar” design, includes a 48MP main camera and a 13MP ultrawide with a 120-degree field of view. Another 13MP sensor is used for the front-facing camera.

Rounding things out there’s wireless charging, NFC, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 6, satellite support, a fingerprint sensor, and “face recognition,” though it’s not clear if the Pixel 9a actually supports the same more-secure face unlock as found on the rest of the Pixel 9 series.

The report also mentions a €499 price tag for the 128GB variant and €599 for the 256GB model, mirroring past leaks for the US. There’s no mention of a release date, though it’s been reported that Google will release this device in late March.

Finally, all four colors are also shown (as we saw earlier this month as well) again.

Except for the battery life, bezels and processor, Pixel 9a seems to be a better buy than iPhone 16e?

depends on your usage scenario

if considering ios, ip13 still selling on official apple lazada, $657. much better value-for-money compared to ip16e

I'm actually curious. iPhone 13 is coming to 4 years old phone. If the stocks are there since day one, wouldn't the battery health be deteriorated?

That's the issue if you are buying new old model. Need to see the production date to determine if it is actually sitting in the store since 4 years ago.
