Great review bro, I own a pixel and a op3 and such between both regularly. You can't go far wrong with either. Plus points for pixel are
1) assistant
2) better battery life although Battery life on op3 is also good
3) better camera
4) faster and more seamless response compared to op3. Not to say that op3 is laggy in the first place ah
5) QHD if it's important to you

Plus points for op3
1) much cheaper
2) bigger screen
3) more user customization like double tap to standby etc. Wave to wake etc
4) dash charge ( unbeatable )
5) better selfie Cam?

IMO, if cost is not an issue, get the pixel

Agreed! haha. I don't really use assistant much though. a lot of times i just use google now for settings reminders, calendars, alarms, and simple things only. But only at home. haha.

WiFi band switching issue seems addressed to some extent, not sure yet.

Wow. After a reboot (very long) my phone rolled back to Jan 5 security update today. The OTA notice came back an error message appeared as it tried to re download. Fully stock locked bootloader btw.

Hmm. Didn't face that yet. But what I encountered was that a game that I sideloaded since it wasn't available in SG, completely refused to run after the Feb OTA. Kept force closing. :/ not as serious as yours, but still annoying.

-NOF26W reboot, it rolled back to Jan V release (what I had).
-Applied the same OTA (only available on WiFi till 11 Feb
-Became NOF26V, finishing installation on first boot as usual
-Tried to reboot again, back to Jan V release oh wow.

Yes, it's still saying I can download the 97.5MB update. I guess I'll stick with Jan security patch for now :/. The purpose of rebooting was to workaround some rogue app issues.

That's not a comparison of iOS vs Android. It's a comparison of the iPhone 7 vs Google Pixel. While it's possible to extrapolate data, it's impossible to do a direct iOS vs Android comparison as they run on different underlying hardware.

We were discussing on the efficiency of both OS. If Pixel and iPhone are not a good representation of Android versus iOS, then I don't know what is.

Have you ever wondered why our beloved Pixel is performing slower than an iPhone despite having double the cores and RAM? This is good reflection of the efficiency of both OS. Note the video is a real life performance of our daily usages. I am not even comparing benchmarks.

More cores and RAM require more battery power!

The devices are pretty good representations of Android and iOS devices. However, comparing performance between them does not reflect entirely on the underlying operating system, because there are other factors that can affect performance. Until you can control for these factors (either by running both OSes in identical hardware, or using a statistical model to control them), you cannot compare 2 devices with several differences and claim that the performance difference is solely due to only 1 differentiating factor (in this case the OS). This is basic science.

What you're saying basically amounts to comparing the performance of a Ferrari Enzo and a Porsche 911 and concluding that one engine is more efficient than the other because the performance of that entire vehicle is higher. It's a fallacious argument because you are ignoring every other factor that has an impact on performance.

Well I agree with you. It is quite hard to find a snapdragon CPU to run iOS or an A10 CPU to run Android. So a much fairer comparison is difficult to be made.

Also, it was a silly mistake of me in my previous statement. Both latest offerings are packed with the same CPU cores actually. ie quad cores. But their RAM are different though. Anyway I rest my case on this comparison.

I did. Main reasons:

1) Titanium backup
2) Ad blocking
3) Mods (navbar button swaps, speaker louder, status bar batt%, centre clock)

anybody changed fro XL to small pixel? are there any massive drop in SOT?
can the small pixel still last for a full day use?
