Hows battery life for pixel users so far? I'm still holding out on the upgrade as there are mixed reviews on battery life.

All the while same card. Before update, there was no need to unlock, just need to wake the phone.

I tried Android Pay, and it's the same for me. Needed to unlock the phone now. Looks like it's intentional, for greater security.

Pixel 32GB laggy

Hi seniors,

Anyone experiencing lag-ness in your Pixel a few days back?

I had a few times having the Pixel launcher not working and restarted the phone itself. Sometimes the phone restarts itself as well. Other times with Google settings or Assistant hangs and phone restarts. Settings on US English and Google Assistant since day 1. Side loaded Android Auto from mirror APK since I use it when driving. Fedup on Sunday night I did a factory reset but phenomenon still appears these 2 days. :s11:

Never had this issue before since launch. On 7.1.2 now, not enrolled in the beta program, but eagerly waiting for the official Oreo! :s12:
If enrolled in the beta program, I read that if opt-out, user data will be wiped out and public stable version will be pushed OTA. Can I check if revert back to the stable version that time, can choose to restore from Google Backup (i.e. will my data be backup in Google during the use of the beta versions)? Thanks a lot.

Cheers.

Try enrolling into the Beta Program. You'll get OTA to Android Oreo almost immediately. Thereafter you can un-enroll from the Beta Program if you so wish. If at the point of un-enrolling, your software version is the latest version already, there wouldn't be a data wipe. Data only wipes when you roll back to an older version of Android. I un-enrolled after updating to Android Oreo. No data was wiped. That being said, since you're facing some issues, may be good to factory reset after you update to Android Oreo.

You'll be able to restore the Google Backup. That's the purpose. Restoring after a factory reset or when setting up a new phone.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try that. Was worried if I couldn't backup my data to Google after enrolling to the beta program and if I wish to unenroll.

Google Pixel Dead

Many refer it to the black screen of death. I've tried plugging it into my computer and it seems to have connection but my screen still remains black. I've also tried the button combinations but screen still black. Got the phone 8 months back from MobyShop. I was referred to Technofied back then if I had any problems since got no warranty. How? I've read that Google Support can do replacement despite where you get the phone. Help please :(

For those who are on Oreo now, do you have this issue where the Messages app (for SMS) keeps using the default notification tone even though you have specified another notification tone?

Notifications are super tedious to go through now if you're the kind who likes to "micro manage" notifications for each app that you have.

Bought it new 4-5months old from mobile square. Now the vibration motor spoilt and giving me annoying rattling vibration noise. Disabled the "Also vibrate for calls" but phone still vibrate with call receive. Don't mind to fork out <$100 for vibration motor change as the phone is still pretty new and well performing. Any place to recommend for professional servicing? Thx. Does anyone experience this vibration faulty which is quite common when I google search it? I am poor luck anyway. Sianzzzz....

Just upgraded to latest 5 Sept patch and location services icon is constantly on despite Maps not running, location mode is set to high which has been all along.

Previous patch did not have this issue, anybody having the same issue?
