Seriously, if u r not using yr phone for tethering, does CA really matters especially considering the fact that we normally dont get morw than 100mbps and the retention period for a smartphone is probably 2yrs or less for most ppl nowadays.

Just my 2cents for those who is considering to get a US set.

It does make sense.. if the status quo remains in network connectivity

But then the Pixel is more expensive than any phone in Singapore including (Iphone7) due to various factors

To be at the forefront of technology yet living in a landscape that cannot fully maximise it might not appeal to many.

Who knows if 4G+ infrastructure jus jumps, or jus a simple overseas trip to say China and realise ur top of the line phone cannot be used..

Price wise only small diff too for RoW over US set. Why settle!?

Managed to try out a pixel XL. It really is like my dream phone. Lol. An iPhone running android. Smooth like iPhone but not iOS.

Probably if DoA can telp Shopee directly.. if not , should be keep the invoice and contact google care 24/7 for them to advise.

One of the cons of export set i guess.. mafan but can be done bah

You can click here for a brief explanation. Basically a cable that has the correct resistor in place for USB-C compliance will prevent your phone from frying your charger or phone. There are more technical details on Benson Leung's G+ account if you want to read up.

tl;dr don't anyhow buy cables if you don't want to fry your usb port or phone.

Yeah I did a google search after I posted. Seems like the most important criteria is the 56Kohm pull-up resistor that limits the amount of current the device can draw from the host in case the host cannot provide enough. Seems like there's also an easy way to check(at least on the 5X/6P) if a cable is compliant using the CheckR app or using ADB. There are quite a few cheap cables on aliexpress that claim to have the 56Kohm resistor, as well as user reviews with CheckR screenshots. I've bought 1 of them for testing.
