can share how u placed the order? which VPN u used? I used VPN and try to place but keep getting high risk error

I can get in and order via incognito + VPN but when I place the order and login using my google account (which is SG) it won't let me pay.

Damn they are strict.

Edit: managed to fix it, logged in via VPN on my desktop instead of using my mobile which for some reason caused some errors on the mobile site. Anyway it accepted my order on the Pixel 128 gb black which is still available luckily.

If you just created a new account, I think the high risk is due to verifying your credentials in google wallet. U need a US based IC.

High risk is when u try to buy a certain product, which is priced over a certain amount. It targets those which did not have their social security checked by Google.

I have tried ways and means to bypass this, even contacted their help desk. But without sending in your "social security" as a US citizen for checks, no way Jose...

Btw it's different from Japan or Singapore..

Now I just hope the LTE bands can be fully utilised for SG. I didn't see anything about this on the research and assume all versions are compatible worldwide..

NA (North America) models LTE support band 3 and 7 in SG (up to 150Mbps). However, you would not be able to enjoy Carrier Aggregation (CA) of 300Mbps..

RoW (Rest of World) models work fine in SG for CA or even triple CA..

That said, Singtel also uses band 8, for tri-band carrier aggregation (CA), but it doesn’t really matter, because the Nexus phone is a Cat 6 device supporting dual-carrier CA.

Speaking of LTE Advanced and carrier aggregation (i.e., combining channels or carriers to achieve higher LTE speeds), note that the U.S. sets can’t do CA with any of the bands we use here. In short, expect 4G speeds but not ‘4G+’ speeds.

yes confirm can. use VPN to go to US google store, then log in with your SG account and pay.

works for me. immediately charged my credit card although they said only charge when shipped. bank also called to confirm..

can, if u VPN.. but afterwards the account gets converted to a US account, and end up certain SG apps cannot be seen or downloaded.. e.g. this app

If you're paying so much, at least get one that can utilize 4G+ here.

Cancelling your US order is a much wiser choice.

Quite sure price will drop 3-4mths time..

yes i feel that is the good timing because the price depreciated and stable, hypers and carrot choppers are already silenced, and at the same time the tech/phone is still new.

buying later than that will make the 'freshness' factor quickly disappear, because come 4th quarter of next year, a newer model comes.

its always like that everytime these aren't assets that "appreciate" in value.

we just need to be resistant and not tempted / poisoned

So while both models work with LTE band 3 & 7 in SG, you will be missing out on 2x CA or 3x CA if you purchase the NA model and use it in SG as the NA model doesn't support SG Telco CA frequencies. Currently only Singtel uses band 8 for tri CA.
