Yes exactly what I was thinking. Appreciate the rest of the guys here clarifying and explaining the difference of the two models. Helps and saves us from getting a suboptimal choice.

Used to buy RoTW UK set for 5x. (so type g plug (sg). Similar situation can be expected for the Google Pixel.

Back then item availability clove uk and ULM (Clove has bettsr CS and responsiveness) were quite early. Direct FedEx or DHL shipping available. No forwarder etc involved.

Shipping out of UK meant VAT will be deducted before checkout (GST will be handled by courier).

Quite a no frills experience, it might also be an option worth exploring if available should early adopters be contemplating a purchase from scalpers.

Highly advisable to compare prices from different markets before jumping on the bandwagon as well.

How abt VoLTE? Does ROW set support? Especially Singtel.

You can safely assume it will never be supported to avoid disappointment. VoLTE needs specific devices to be supported by different telcos and that list is small and limited to handsets that each sells.

Please do not be misled by prices guys. US prices do not include state and federal taxes. For UK, VAT is factored into the price like SG's GST.

Second this.. The hardware (modem) inside supports Voice over LTE. At least that is what Qualcomm said in its press release.

Well, with Google only promised that it will support software update for the next two years, then it comes to the question of, can the high price justify such support.

Pixel is definitely different kind of branding by Google than Nexus. We do hope that Google does something better than that.

Prices were set by Google past Brexit. I would highly doubt a price adjustment will be possible in the short term at least... But in feature terms

• Tri-Band LTE Aggregation
• UK Type G Plug (Same as SG 3 Pin), meant no 3rd party adapter required
• Lower SRP than US set when you remove VAT for export
• Workarounds to get access to item via scalpers not needed

I think its obvious this is a better alternative than the NA model.

Any way to order as export to remove VAT? For e.g. Using Forwarder for tax exempt?

Well. How long are they gonna support that? Two years later, will new Android still come to Pixel?

Of course, we can just flash by our own, but it will be great if Google does something better in support compared to what they did for Nexus line. If Google is serious in Pixel, they gotta do it..

Just an example when I bought 2nd N5x from Clove UK.

Price is not 299GBP cause tax (VAT) exempt for international buyers. VAT is for international purchase is automatically deducted, no need to adjust. Only subjected to sg customs tax. 1st from ULM around launch. They don't have preorders, but Clove UK has good CS and very responsive if you ask them question. At least for DBS, clove/ULM requires txn authorisation no to process successfully.

PS: As mentioned earlier, i wasn't talking about Google UK store. It's from the resellers that ship internationally. Google doesn't. If you need to know when they're expecting shipments to arrive, contact their sales enquiry team.

Don't recommend ULM even if they're legit. CS is slow and their returns policy was worse.

UK isn't part of North America?

Anyway anecdotal evidence suggests they've been dealing with Int'l/RoW models if you bought from them before with past Nexus launches.

Ask their sales enquiry to confirm...
