Hi Vaxvms,
I am also on dual broadband & contract going to expire soon..
May I ask after contract expire, I believe i gotta pay for the Maxonline which I seldom use.. will you unsubscribe maxonline then (which came with the previous dual broadband plan which charges $37+ a month)? thanks

for me i dun need their freebie so likely will stay on dual band at discounted rate
definitely cheaper than take up fiber and MOL separately
and best thing is no contract can chg telco anytime

Suggest you to confirm with Starhub CS on this if you want to discontinue Maxonline only.

Since the contract price is bundle and when there is a change after expiry the usual pricing may applies without contract.
This usual price would depend on your agreement or their current usual price.

Do note that for cable broadband there will not be any contract on offer even as in the same bundle.
As cable network would ceased in early 2020 or earlier.
There are no contract for both cable broadband and cable tv services.
So this could means that dual broadband is not eligible for recontract.

yes. they mention no changes in price if i wish to continue dual band. guess will dis-continue .....same fate as 3G network

So mean i will be on "no contract" plan

maybe looking at myRepublic as singtel is a NO NO for my area.
i also due for recontract and Starhub asked me to sign up homehub plus. my internet is fibre but tv is cable. now having headache. coz im using two set up box and my room only have one data point for internet. if i re-run my fibre wire to my master room, its going to be very messy as my electrician going to reopen my wire trunking and i gotta re paint my house again. from living room all the way to study room to master bedroom. so my electrician suggested me to use wifi extention. im thinking using google wifi for my room, will that works?

Do your calculation on this sets;
Starhub charges and this have to be at the point of contract;
  • 2 sets @$10/month x 24 = $240
  • 3 sets @$15/month x 24 = $360
Market/resale price on 2/3 sets = ?

Edit/Note:
If you subscribe with Google Wifi there will not be any free Linksys EA8100 Router in the package.
Starhub 1Gbps plan come with free Linksys Router Or pay $ for Google Wifi.

Starhub Fibre TV (IPTV) required direct connection between ONT Port-2 to Set top box(s).
It cannot be via Router on whether wired/wireless, period.

199 per set if from google store. But if i purchase from google store, i owned it, if subscribe from starhub, when my contract due again for recontract, i am like paying even more.

Im thinking to use google wifi for internet usage in the room not to link for starhub tv. I already have a data point to link to starhub tv. Just wana to know is google wifi good? :p

The Google Wifi is installment payment as separate issue from contract.
It is billed into your account as convenient as nowadays installment on certain phone models are also available.
Anyway the Google Wifi will be yours once you paid in full in the installment plan which may have nothing to do with contract.

As for Google wifi seem that there are positive reviews & comments here and in Starhub forum.
Please do read in some posts of the threads.

Google Wifi is a mesh networking as like other mesh units.
