Heya guys, sorry for hijacking the thread abit. I recently got addicted to the vietnam drip coffee and bought the phin filter. But I can't find the brand of condensed milk that they are using. Does anywhere in singapore sell it or any brands that come close to it?

probably not the pharos since i've gotten a large conical burr set to try out. am considering the lido though for work

very happy the hg one and pharos is in stock. I was actually considering a compak k10 fresh or a robur/kony. Compak is astronomically expensive here

I bought their metal dripper too a few years back when I was in Vietnam. It's lost somewhere in my house now. I didn't take note of their brand of condensed milk though. Do you have a pic/brand name of it?

googling these 2 brands brought up a couple of online sites selling them. Perhaps you wanna try buying online?

ahh looks like i really have to get it online. I will try other sweetened condensed milk brand first and see if it taste the same. Thanks for your help!

Same. Looking for the K10 till I given up. Was considering kony, and then hg one came along.

Aeropress recipe

Anyone tried brewing Highlander's Supremo blend using the aeropress? After experimenting a few cups, I think I found something I like . Sharing the recipe if anyone is interested:

Brewing method: Aeropress, inverted method
Grinder: Hario Mini Mill Slim
Grind setting: 9 clicks from close

Coffee: Highlander Supremo Blend
Coffee Amount:15g
Water Temp: 30 secs off boil
Water Amount: 150ml

• 
  Pre-infuse with 30ml of water for 40 sec

• 
  Slowly add remaining 120ml over next 70 sec

• 
  Stir to mix thoroughly and cap the filter

• 
  Tilt the aeropress 45 degrees and give it a slight swirl before placing it on the cup (This prevents the coffee from sticking to the plunger)

• 
  Press out within 30 sec and stop when you hear the hissing sound

I'm predominately a coffee with milk drinker so I find that it taste better if I add about 3-4g of sugar. Not sure how to describe the taste Smoother?

Chanced upon this yesterday. Interesting presentation by the various WBC competitors. One thing for sure, Matt Perger is a natural showman

I re-watched this again yesterday. And I realized he's using a lot of home barista methods. Single dosing, using a funnel to transfer the grounds, nutation. Little to no distribution though. I think the nutating motion is enough to properly distribute the grounds. Surprised he didn't add WDT to the mix lol.
I wonder if he ever does this ritual in his workplace.

I did try frozen espresso cups though...not my thing...but nowadays I didn't warm my cups, just pull into room temperature cups...

I used to preheat with water from the grouphead but eventually not necessary as it made the espresso too hot to drink immediately. using ancap or bodum double wall cups.

If in SG and using filtered water, how long before you need to descale?
Say you pull once a day during weekdays and twice during weekends.

Meaning : 10 shots per week. 40 shots a month
