Without the fan, idle at 97, 100 during flush.

Full blast for 15mins, idle at 74, 90 during flush.

Conclusion: Its your fan. Off it when you're pulling shots.

Lol yours is an extreme example. Thanks for sharing.

For pourovers i tend to underestimate how fast heat is lost from the kettle too. Within 60secs temps can drop to 92-94 degrees and can produce a sour brew.

Thanks LazyTiger & Chikyblink for helping out with this.

The drop sure is fast. I knew it was the fan cos I noticed it happened intermittently and only when fan is on. But, I was wondering if there's something wrong with my machine or something that causes the machine not to keep up.

At least I now know this is normal.

i used to get mine from oriole. not sure if they still carry. after that i ordered from hasbean to complete the set. you can consider ims baskets too from coffeeinaplace. can consider synesso baskets from papa palheta too.

hmmm...i think just to be safe bring your portafilter there and test with their basket for fit. if i'm not wrong synesso is using 58mm baskets so should not be an issue. your portafilter may not fit their triple baskets. you need a bottomless portafilter for that. can get it from coffeeparts.au

So the 18g one should fit right? Not looking to use a triple basket haha too much caffeine!

Can try La Ristrettos, they carry VSTs. Call for stock.

Called and was quoted 50 bucks for the basket. Anyway the 18g basket, the one i want doesn't have stock. Is it really that much better than the synesso basket that it costs double the price? If so i may buy it from amazon or something where its cheaper haha

Behmor 1600 Plus

So I just got it about 1 week ago. From jetblack espresso. Just wanna share my not-so-pleasant experience buying from them.

So you check out the item but the shipping cost is not included. Few days later they email me about a "security check" that they need to do for large online transactions. Basically they placed a small refund back into my card and I've to tell them the amount. 3 days later the refund showed up and its $0.02.

Next step is the shipping cost. They quoted me $320AUD at first! I was like WTF why is it so ex? Then they double checked it again and quoted me $195AUD. That sounds more reasonable.
So they want this amount paid direct into their bank account. And the only way to do it is by telegraphic transfer. So troublesome! So I went down to the bank to do it, with an extra charge of $30SGD.

About 1 week later they replied they only received $185 instead of $195(WTF?) but they'll ship it anyway.
Shipping was fast. 3 days I think.

Anyway here it is. $536.30SGD for the roaster and $239.14 for shipping.

Warnings not to walk away in the middle of the roast are everywhere.

Pls share with us how is the product . I may self roast.

Btw they receive $10 less is because of admin charge .
Did you agak compare with fedex or dhl if the price quoted is reasonable ?

Admin charge on their side? So next time transfer money need to add $10 more?
And no I didn't bother to do shipping comparison. TBH I just wanted to get it over with asap. Their vague 1-2 liner replies doesn't inspire confidence either.

it can be specified but normally is bank just deduct and whoever is receiving will get it less. they are not clever enough to mark up

so how is the experience? I hope it's not rocket science.

Help me guys... I can't for the life of my froth milk properly with my rancilio silvia. I just tried frothing milk 4 times in a row just now and didn't even succeed once and threw away 3 lousy milk and drank one of the lousily frothed milk with my espresso lol.

Ive frothed milk at least about 30 times in total now and didn't once manage to get micro foam.

When I turn on the steam wand there is a white opaque blast of steam coming out, almost water droplet like. Is that normal or is the steam wand not hot enough yet?
Should the steam coming out from the machine be like transparent and cannot be seen? Because sometimes when I "purge" or leave on the steam wand for a while the white opaque steam becomes like "transparent" that is to say that there isn't any water droplets coming out and mostly steam i think.

I've also tried putting my jug in many angles and can't seem to find the right angle. The main problem is that I'm not able to incorporate enough air into the milk and even to find the right angle to get the "W" spot to swirl the milk after dipping the steam wand further into the pitcher. Sometimes I incorporate so little air in the stretching of the milk part that when I try to dip my steam wand further into the milk, I can't as I've already reached the bottom of the pitcher.

The sound that I'm hearing is a very loud hissing sound in the stretching part and my steam tip is just submerged into the pitcher at an angle with the wand slightly off centre as the chef steps video suggested. However, the loud hissing sound is wrong right?

I've watched many videos on how to steam the milk and yet can't do it. I'm making my pitcher cold before adding the milk to make the milk colder to allow more time to add air and yet still almost no air is being added. The milk that is made is mostly just heated milk with a small layer of bubbles on top if I'm lucky.

What could be the problem :(
Getting pretty frustrated now...
