I used to stay in Marine Drive Blk 64 for almost 25 years from 1975 onwards. Yup we are among the first families to relocate from Geylang kampong.

Pros:
1. As my block is the first facing ECP, the sea view is completely unblocked. You can see the sun rising from the east and setting in the west.

2. Can easily walk to the beach via nearby underpass.

3. Amenities nearby like Parkway Parade, MP Central wet market/hawker centre, NTUC, library, good schools like Tao Nan, CHIJ, VJC, community centre etc.

Cons:
1. Noise and dust from the ECP traffic, but you will get used to it like a soft droning noise after awhile.

2. Your metal appliances and fittings rust easily, like TV, window grilles, etc.

the seaview is the only thing me likes ,because buying things like not so convenient leh
It’s like a short walk from marine terrace which has a market and food Center, a couple of coffee shops rows of shops and a grocery mart. There are also preschools around. How’s it inconvenient?

I know. It’s not downstairs convenience but you cross a road and you’re at marine terrace.
not familiar ,walked to the bus stop from blk 29, didn't see any shop around, though the bus goes to PP takes 5 mins

Blk 50 is marine terrace food Center. That area should have enough for most day to day stuff. Barber, hardware shops, dollar stores, tire shop, clinics, 7/11, guardian, coffee shops, etc.
