AMD graphics card has poor opengl driver and don't suppor vulkan. It run poorly with console game emulator.

This is such a specific use case. But if u need to run with vulkan, install a linux partition, and use amd open source vulkan drivers, they are faster on linux.

Zotac's warranty is one of the longest in the industry, i.e. 5 years. So if it is still within warranty, there is an obligation for them to replace/ fix the faulty card. The same does not apply to cards out of warranty. They may fix it for you, but you need to send in the card yourself, and find out later how much it will cost you for the repairs and for sending it back to you. If you accept and make the payment, they will send the card back to you. Otherwise, you lose the card.

The impression I got from TS is that he was willing to pay but Zotac wouldn’t entertain him at all. I could be wrong though.

That's not unusual actually. The profit margin from repair is likely to be low so I won't be surprised if firms don't support EOL products outside of warranty period.

Zotac need to register your card with Zotac for the full 5 yrs warranty within 30 days of your purchase, 3yrs covered by local distro and zotac will cover the remaining 2yrs. I assume you did not trigger the extra 2 yrs.

TS can always switch to console gaming if he doesn't want to pay inflated prices for replacement GPU .

Not so inflated for the Xbox. I've seen people selling new ones close to MSRP (SGD 699). PS5 however are mostly inflated and selling close to the 900 to 1K SGD mark.

Qishan sold the PS5 disc version on Qoo10 a few weeks back at 1K, with 2 free games. You can further apply a 100 off 1K coupon, so its 900 bucks. I suspect PS5 are no longer being sold at MSRP, unlike Xbox Series X. MS is taking a significant lost per Xbox sold now by sticking to the 699 SGD price tag, if you can find one. The Xbox Series X is still going for 459 SGD.

Can't work out, there is very little games, softwares and hardwares driver that support linux.

Clicked purchase for the exact card on the 4thMay. Order was auto cancelled. Dunno if its a glitch or not. That time also left 1 card.
