Not bad, the whole of this evening i was trying to play certain games and fine tuning with the fan speed. So i took the card for an actual gaming spin for a period of 1 hour plus per game. I have set the frame limit to 95fps for all my games, i was able to cut the power taken by a good 10%, which is about 300w-310w range on full load.

I purposely limit the frames as i myself find it at 1440p, i do hit above 100fps. Which i personally do not need it to go above that, so a 95fps cut off would be good. And some interesting results.

Max temps for Farcry 4 52deg!

Today i took some time to open up the front face plate to take a good look at it.

I think in future, hope they comes out with a interchangeable faceplate with some cool art form or something. =:p

But either way, here is how it looks like from the inside.

I realized something. There is a total of 3 protective plate that comes with it, and AMD has done a good job on how the way they wanna cool this card.

Noticed that there is a total of 3 different plates. 1st is the faceplate, 2nd is the mid plate, and at the back is the backplate.

Noticed that the VRMs are actually not only cooled by the Copper pipe running water through. It was actually a copper pipe comes attached and hold down by the mid plate.

This mid plate serves its bigger purpose. To cool further down the VRMs sections and all the other power delivery components.

The mid plate consist of the entire almost 95% of the entire GPU card chassis. That is the reason why the card was rather hot when on load. The VRMs are not only cooled by the running copper pipe but together with the mid plate. Mid plate will depends on passive cooling such as your PC chassis fan.

The last back plate serves no purpose but to added the card support.

Here is a closer look of the VRMs copper pipe running through.

Thermal pads were used to have direct contact with the VRMs, and thermal pads were used to have direct contact for the copper pipes to the mid plate.

I believe this is to facilitate people whom using this card for itx setups.

Cause i felt that most itx chassis, their cards are always facing outwards. It will be totally cool to have a 3d graphics design in the near future to customise what you really want andd what is unique about it. Thats what modding community and DIY enthusiast likes, to create a pc that is very personal and up close for them.

Yeah for most users that use a tower layout like not that beneficial. Like you pointed out, those who use a horizontal mobo layout like the bitfenix itx, corsair 250D, mercury S3 and even the Thermaltake Core X.

Quite a hassle still hmm, must own 3D printer as a prerequisite
Then again, certainly must credit them for them for taking this step!
