So cool. No wonder the card came with a faceplate that has 4 screwsbeing easy to remove.

i remembered you were talking about the possibility of having customizable front plates. I guess it's pretty obvious that they should do this since its just a flate plate that's easy to remove. good job AMD. stand by from some crazyy designs!

how is the fan noise compare to traditional air cooler?

@ less than 30cm

@ 1m

Its pretty quiet if you were to ask me.

Can set custom fan profile also. If you are adventurous you can solder your own fan pin and change the fans to the ones you like.

IMHO, no point. You are better off sticking with Intel. It runs cooler and faster. I am switching back to AMD solely because I am AMD supporter (used to by loyal customer before I switched to Intel when Sandy Bridge came out).

Also another thing is that I don't need the performance Intel offers (I hardly play games and my games are not demanding at all). WOW, WOT, ST Online...... Anything also can play.

Ordered FX9590 and C5FZ from Amazon.... Waiting for it to arrive....hoho.......Hopefully can oc to 5GHz stable.

for gaming, amd performance is actually quite good from what i see in benchmarks. in fact, i think if yr using for basic needs, then Intel may be more suitable.

There are not many amd users here. the bias towards intel is also quite strong. i suggest u go to Overclock.net. They have dedicated AMD threads there should u need more info. Price wise, there's nothing more to say except it's rather high in SG. U can try Videopro at SLS. i thought i saw some decently priced FX chips last time i went there.

personally, im also keen to try AMD. its an enthusiast thing. test the overclock, do some benchmarks. After all, if ppl can pay 1k for an AMD gpu to test, i think AMD system will be much cheaper to play.

Go for horizontally mounted cases like bitfenix, 250D, thermaltake check out Ncase also.

Dont assume that Intel bias is strong. There is really almost no reason to get amd chipset and CPU in sg context. Weak customer support, not readily available and lackluster performance.

If amd chips are readily available than intel, or vastly superior than intel's offerings, don't see why not. However, the current situation is largely contrary to what i mentioned; AMD cpu build is hence strongly discouraged.

Gpu and CPU different story. Whilst CPU is lagging behind, gpu they are trading blows with nvidia's flagships. Though the rebrands can be really annoying. Hopefully they come up with the never settle bundle again...

Dont think they bought the 1k gpu just to 'play' with it. They really used it and have a purpose for it to drive the 1440p monitor...

Actually AMD support in SG is quite OK what.... RMA procedure is same as Intel. I RMA AMD CPU before. Then they just ship new one to me.

it's still play la. serious play i mean.

can't comment on amd cpu till i've used one myself. cos obviously, the reviews from various forums & even Teksyndicate and Jayz2cents can be like night and day. nothing wrong with being bias towards a brand. not assuming cos it's a fact, and for good reason of cos.

I don't think amd has really traded blows with nvidia, performance wise. maybe pricing yes, but performance, it's always the latter. but one does not always have to buy a product purely on performance.

maybe the person here says it best, it's about soul.
