I never have anybody ask me which bank when I request to pay by paywave before. What is the weird practice that I have been listening here?

So far it also happen for me at challenger too.

I asked the staff why they need to know which bank, she responded that they have different terminal for different bank.

This happen when I try spilt my purchase using multiples card from different bank, she told me to tap at different terminal.

Then i wonder those overseas cc how. Which bank do they tap on ? I am no expert in this area but could it be challenger pays the different banks the amount that has been charged to their bank terminals respectively? But as for the grab pay card or any other 冷门 cards like youtrip, revolut, or even cimb bank.... what banks do they use or do we say ?

It was ok last night ard 10-11pm not sure now. I have just scanned the QR code. Using both IOS and Android were successfully activated.

Was at challenger, i said paywave, the cashier say grabpay not accepted. I said just paywave, and ask me what bank. I any how hoot and say “UOB” . Transaction went through and off I go...

The cashier also one kind. Grab card is a MasterCard what, not grabpay.

Yes, the bank are charge lesser fee to their own card, I.e UOB card on UOB terminal is cheaper to the merchant compared to other card on the same terminal.

So the cashier will ask the qn is for the purpose to have lower fee at their end.

Then if the card is not fr any bank terminal they have, they shd hv a common terminal for better fee for those cards.

Anyone knows if it’s possible to use GPMC to pay Prudential Insurance plans monthly in place of normal credit cards from major banks in SG?

So far those who tried to put GPMC as recurring charge card for monthly deduction of other stuff seem to have failed. Eg I tried for AIA vitality it doesn’t trigger the following month’s auto charge. I didn’t try on prudential yet..maybe those who did can advise. Else I may do a test myself this month by changing card details to GPMC for my prud monthly premiums

Not possible, this card is not from the list of major banks in their inclusion

update: i called grab and was told by cso that i should get invite to apply, if not i cant get the card and not eligioble. In order to get the invite i should start using wallet first to get invite. is it true or CSO any how reply to me.

Ya I know... wanna see if I can humtum any bank in the list and still get through not. Guess for prud premiums, best case now is charge directly to UOB one...

Actually I m curious if the grabpay card is allowed for recurring payment like giro, how much do u set for auto topup? If a txn is higher than the set topup, would it topup multiple times automatically to make the giro deduction?
