A store which I frequently patronised and used my Grabpay to pay for my purchases is no longer accepting grabpay. When I asked the owner why, he replied that he noticed grab had been charging him certain % from the txns paid by grabpay since 1 Dec. He was always getting lesser. He was upset with it and he decided to stop accepting grabpay.
With more and more bank cards not awarding points or cashbacks and merchants pulling out from the above mentioned reasons, I don’t see why grabpay card will remain attractive. This is just my personal opinion.

See his reply. He quoted grabpay card not attractive when initially mention about grabpay. Lol. Like what you said, MC is MC, still a card

believe he's referring to Grabpay (QR code), Grabpay Card is basically a card which can be used so long as Masters is accepted by the card terminal (nth to do with Grab).

You can go to the history and in the transaction of $1 otp verification fee, report as issue and Grab will look into it and refund.
I have. Paid 1 bill successfully, but forfeited the $1 card verification fee which doesn't get refunded.

AXS introducing Pay & Earn to let you earn cashback/miles/reward points if you willing to pay an admin fee though.

So maybe you can still pay bills with GPMC but with a fee ?

My bad. Forget to mention is a provision store. They dun accept all those mentioned and they use grabpay (QR) because they were told there was no admin charge when they approached them. I m just forward thinking. What bout those Hawkers n small business setups? If they pull out, there will be lesser places to use grabpay. Generally I like to use grabpay coz many stores dun accept visa, masters and Amex.

well the way forward is to digitised all payments which in a way is good cause you dont need cash or have spare change hanging around.

its than up to businesses to aadopt and if they want to reprice to include thsi cost factor or absorb.

Yea. Cashless is good
Dont need carry the 10c 20c

But pushing cost to consumer is not good in long term. :(

Those netspay paynow paylah methods are FOC to merchants and consumers (absorbed by authorities pushing for cashless society just like China) but no points of course if mai hiam, no need carry coins and notes.
If u search hard enough, Once in a while they will even give 50c $1 kind of discount to entice more people to use, but again efforts spend to register and start using will be more than the 50c compensation reward, so still no take up in the end

It was shared on the GPMC telegram group. But if you happen to have the latest mAXS app on your phone, i got the latest update yesterday, Grabpay was removed from payment methods and 'coming soon' is the Pay & Earn feature.

hearsay the admin fee is about 2.5% ?
