Im surprise The police and grab can't trace whom the hp no. / bank acc. Belongs to? Assuming u pay via paynow

I paid via paynow. The scammer probably just contacted the receiver, and told them that the amount was transferred in error, and that they needed to forward the cash to some offshore bank account, or they will call the police. Like this: https://mothership.sg/2019/11/wrong-transfer-paynow-singapore/. The scammer probably doesn't even live in Singapore.

If you do choose to deal, make sure he sends you the credits first before you pay him, even if it's a meetup. I did a similar trade. Met the guy face to face, to conduct the trade. Someone has to send first, so i did. The guy i met turned out to be an errand boy, and i've been cheated. Caught the errand boy and sent him to the police, but til date the police still don't know who the mastermind is. Now the errand boy has to pay me back, but god knows when the deadbeat will have the cash.

This carouseller's probably the same guy who cheated me, and he's going to send another errand boy for you to send to the police.

Oh my. so scary to hear. I still tot of using cash to pay when we meet up if I will to buy from him. LOL. Scully he send his gang to rob me off. :s13::s13::s13:
Thanks for the story. Have to be cation on this. :s12:

Omg! This fellow has no rating at all. Why would you even consider to deal with him? Rule of the thumb. Always read his reviews 1st before deciding. I know of someone who was con by another seller to go knock on some one else's door. Buyer thought he is suppose to collect the item from seller house. Turn out seller is a loan shark. Offered to sell cheap but need buyer to go "his" house to collect. Actually making use of innocent buyers to go harass his debtor.

Always always make sure you check for good feedbacks before you decide whether to go ahead. Tread with care!

Sounds too good to be true, offering 22%-25% off in a marketplace where most people are selling at 1%-2% haircut.

Not to mention the large amounts, and dubious profile with zero rating.

If you still wanna go ahead, then do it small amt at 1 go. Eg, you handover $100, he transfers 100 to your account. Repeat.

In any case, the receiver who owns the hp no. has to pay you back.

Hope you get back your money eventually..

They probably used hacked or bought accounts. The scammer who cheated me was using an account 5+ years old, with several good reviews buying and seller ladies apparel. Although the last transaction was years ago.....

If you have problems hitting $500 credit card spend, consider switching to DBS Multiplier. UOB ONE's interest of 3.88% is misleading advertising, seeing as you'll never actually get 3.88% on your whole savings balance. Actual simple interest earned is:

Bank balance <$15,000 = 1.85%
Bank balance <$30,000 = 1.925%
Bank balance <$45,000 = 2%
Bank balance <$60,000 = 2.075%
Bank balance <$75,000 = 2.436%

So UOB ONE makes sense only if you have between $60,001 to $75k in your bank account. I follow the 6mths expenditure rule, so i never hold that much cash in bank anyway. I invest it all.

In comparison, DBS multiplier pays a flat 2.2% for most people, provided you spend $0.01/mth on a DBS/POSB credit card, and invest $100/mth(transaction fee 1%. rather high, i know, but the increased savings interest offsets it) in any of their InvestSaver Plans.

Actually i have all 4: DBS Multiplier, UOB One, SCB Bonus Saver, Maybank Saveup (soon to close after 31 Mar).

In terms of credit card spending, with the changes to UOB One, I am finding the credit card spend is the most challenging out of the 4 accounts.

No issues with credit card spend for the other 3 accounts (DBS, SCB and Maybank), due to their flexibility.........

bonus saver is also >$500 for CC spend right? So what you can charge to bonus saver that doesn't count for UOB ?

Its possible.
mulitplier now can use invesment to replace salary. UOB & Maybank can use GIRO replace salary.
The only one that has a dedicated salary cat is bonus saver.

Can charge most things to Bonus Saver, except AXS, Nets related transactions. While UOB One has to be strictly retail now, with the changes.....

OMG. AMEX too? true cashback card? I tot that is the only card that is left worth holding for grab topup to at least even a mini punny rebate. hahahahaha

Amex TCB exempted from the recent AMEX announced changes to the T&C. So still can use it to top up.

Guys, any ideas what credit card will be good for topping up GrabPay wallet? Since now UOB cards are also excluding it coming march.

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
