What is the most number of points you guys accumulated? They have some attractive prizes like iPad and Apple Watch but like quite impossible to hit the point requirement.

Current balance is ~183k points.
If complete challenge, will be over 200k in points
Will probably exchange for some Capital Mall vouchers soon.

Wah you accumulated so much and never redeem?

need to be careful of devaluation.

not sure if they bringing back CapitaStar vouchers with discount. But CapitaStar is still available for redemption

Yes. I will not want hold on too long.
Not with them bleeding over a billion USD in Q4-2021.

I have 40 additional 5,000 STAR$ that is unredeemed. (worth SGD 200 Capital Mall vouchers)
If I convert all 200k to 5,000 STAR$, that adds 80 sets of 5,000 STAR$ (worth SGD 400 Capital Mall vouchers)
Cannot remember, there might be cap in number of vouchers allowed per "period"?

Anyways, all in about SGD 600 worth.

To be clear, I had been redeeming and using lots of the Capital Mall vouchers.
Found them to be the most "flexible" in terms of getting something I need and not redeeming just to clear points.

How long did you take to accumulate that?

I average around $2,000 per month on this card because of the challenge but some months, was too slow and they get fully redeemed.

SO based on $2,000, that is 12,000 Grab points? (Platinum)
Monthly Challenge gives me 20,000 extra
Sometimes have accelerator points but those are negligible.
1 month ~ 30,000 points (+/-) = 12 sets of 5,000 STAR$ (worth SGD 60 Capital Mall vouchers)
Then either 1.5% or 1.7% cash rebate from Amex or UOB = SGD 30 - 34

So spending SGD 2,000 on the Grab will net me SGD 90-94 in rebates / vouchers

As can see from my example, if I successfully complete the Challenge, my returns is over 4.5%
So I can forgo all the complicated category trackings etc.

That said, I still like generic miles (not for the moment) as a redeemed air ticket can easily trump 4.5% in rebates

2k/mth spend on UOB one have 300$ rebate per quarter, so thats $100 per month.
No need claim , no need voucher expiry, no need think what to buy .

My biggest beef with UOB One is the rebates are calculated on quarterly basis?
Some months I spend more, some months may miss the $2,000, only over $1,000 qualifying spent.
It is hard to forecast and I do not want to spend for the sake of meeting the $2,000
Otherwise, will drop to the $1,000 or even the $500 tier if for some reason no spent in a month.

If it takes too much effort for you to meet the spending requirement, then this card may be unsuitable for you.

Choose a card that meets your lifestyle, spending pattern, etc ....
