Relatively new user. Want to share a mistake i made.

Made a mistake of paying lump sum of $4.8k in silver tier.

Thinking that the points earned will auto breakdown:

E.g. First x amount = silver tier (3 points per dollar)
Next x amount = gold tier (4.5 points per dollar)
Next x amount = platinum tier (6 points per dollar)

End up i got bumped straight to platinum tier and only earned 4.8k x 3 = 14,400 points
if you had joined the challenge you get 20k more pts. So its kinda nets off .

Yeah... never knew for sure I am not surprised as other loyalty programs such as Hotels and Airlines behave the same way. Your data point does confirm it. Thanks for sharing.

Anyone noticed now the power up challenges requires you to top up using bank or paynow? Cannot use UOB absolute card for the challenge already. Anyone knows if the UOB card can be used with paynow?

Since last month or so.

you can top up via bank transfer first and withdraw to satisfy the topping up part, then top up using your uob card to spend

Hi, I wanted to check if everyone who joined the UOB account opening promo earlier this year have all already received your Grab credits? I recall previously that some users received them but others haven't, but I haven't received mine til now and was wondering if I overlooked some criteria. Thanks in advance!

I have been using GrabPay and GPMC for last few months, but never explored "challenges".

Current challenge is to top-up $2100 from bank account or PayNow and spend $2k (in 25 transactions) to earn 20k points.

1. 20k points = $40. So, you get $40 by spending $2k, which is 2% cash back. Is this in addition to regular points given on transactions (which is about 1.2% cashback for Platinum members)?

2. Can I top-up $2100 from bank account (to meet the criteria for challenge), but add more funds from UOB Amex card to get 1.7% cash back, and spend from that, and then later transfer $2100 back to my bank account? How does Grab track "transferable funds" when I have topped-up using both bank account and credit card?

1) challenge is on top

2) as above. Why not just transfer out first.

Transferable funds tracker and power challenge tracker is different. They have different settings. Eg debit card is included in transferrable but excluded under power challenge now.

If you are aiming for this, need to be fast. Can be fully redeemed by early next month. So even though the challenge period is till 14 June, it may run out eg by early Jun.

1. Yes. 20k points on top of regular points.
2. Can. Only topup from bank/debit card is transferable. When use for transaction, the non-transferable fund will be used first.

Thanks for sharing. So what should be the correct way? Pay enough to get to gold tier and then wait for this half year cycle to complete to become gold tier first, and then pay remaining to get to plat in the next cycle? Or does the cycle doesn't matter as in can first get to gold and then to plat within the same cycle? This is the confusing part for me. Have been meaning to call the hotline to ask but was always tied up whenever the qn came to mind.

For the recent 5K challenge, I saw in the T&Cs alot of MMC codes are excluded. Anyone knows what MCC code is used when purchasing Qcoins on qoo10 platform? Gotta check if this MCC code is excluded or included, and also does it count towards tier qualification. TIA!

FYI, just realized if use GPMC to top up shopeepay there is no point earn. Hence doesn't contribute to tier qualification.
