Just now went to pay Town Council Fee at the Town Council Counter, I asked if can PayWAVE, they said can. Then when I passed them the GPMC, they asked me from which bank? Then rejected my GPMC transaction and was advised by lady that they need to know which bank of the credit card then can make payment.

Anyone able to make Town Council Fee using GPMC successfully? Can teach me? Thanks~

Why do they need to ask which bank? It's not uncommon for sales staff to ask VISA, Mastercard or NETS. First time I hear asking for bank.

Go again and tell them call Grab to ask which bank they bank in users’ topup money (including the town council officer’s money that he/she deposit with Grab account)
As long can pay by paywave or chip, they should accept valid mode of payment, tell them don’t ask so much, next time u go again better ask for compensate your wasted trip de transport cost

My records No reward points for posted transport

I think hor, Mastercard is consolidate at least 15SGD or 5 days worth of transport transactions whichever is sooner then they make a one time posting of the fee. At least that what happen when I previously use MasterCard for transport.

Visa however make daily posting. That also why if you use UOB visa for transport, make sure in one day you can clock 5 SGD or DBS bank at least 1.67 SGD if you hope to accumulate any miles

So in the end , you use chip GPMC to make payment on Town Council Fee ?

In the end, I made my payment for the next 6 months. My town council only accepts chip, no paywave.

Hmmmm. I received my physical grabpay card. But my app doesn't show the option to activate the physical card. Is there any alternate method to activate the card?

When you tap on the "Activate physical card" option, the camera will activate to scan the QR code that came with the physical card. Not sure if the normal Pay scanner will work or not.

Write to town council to complain. Clearly a case of poorly trained staff. Reminds me of when u show a cashier mastercard paypass they will tell u it cant work cos their machine only accept visa paywave which is bullsheet.

Or more recently when u tell cashier apple pay or samsung pay & they tell u cannot, only can use paywave.

When you tap on the "Activate physical card" option, the camera will activate to scan the QR code that came with the physical card. Not sure if the normal Pay scanner will work or not.

yup, i saw the instructions:
1. Open your Grab App and click the <Wallet> payment icon.
2. Click the <Setting> in the top right corner, and then click on your Grabpay Card.
3. Click the 'Activate Physical Card' Option and scan the QR code placed above.

but i don't see the "Activate Physical Card" option at all. and using payment QR scan results in an error. Just wondering if anyone else has the same error and how to bypass this activation issue. But i guess no one has the same problem at the moment.

Ah...this is exactly what i want to know.
I also now waiting for my card to arrive.

One more thing I discovered
2) Click the <Setting> in the top right corner, and then click on your Grabpay Card.
When you select the option "Learn about your GrabPay Card" >
You will go to Grab Pay webpage
" Say Hello to your GrabPay Card"
Click the Green Arrow/Activate

Correct, that is why i was told by them simply says using mastercard paywave.
