Tried to pay msig insurance just now via their web. It say insufficient fund in wallet for transfer etc. didnt know about this, so do take note.

Why can’t I use my GrabPay Card at some merchants?

You may refer to the list below for the types of merchants/MCCs of which users can only tap on the transferable balance in their GrabPay wallet to make GrabPay Card transactions:

Ez-link app under MCC 4111
Selected e-wallet top-ups and remittance services under MCC 6540
Selected insurance providers under MCC 6300
AXS under MCC 7299

wah less and less option to use GPMC

this is one of the dumbest way to enforce it, because it's so confusing - need to understand the concept of transferable vs non-transferable balance, and MCC.

who would put up with this hassle if they're just looking for a simple wallet + card to spend

shrug...going to ask for refund and time to cut the GPMC..


a useful site to tell you which card to use to pay for which MCC..

whatcard not accurate one.. do own due diligence is best.. i have a habit of always checking mcc of new transactions i make... ownself compiled a list of few hundred merchant MCC already.. some MCC assignments are really really surprising...

how do u check? Call the bank?
