No not yet the telegram group isn't up yet.Hello! Have you been able to get the telegram group going? I am planning to apply for the Aug 2023 intake for this.
I am a Singapore PR but graduated in a good school in the Philippines with so so grades and has a back ground in IT recruitment for 7 years. I applied for Graduate Certificate in Computing Foundations for the August intake.
Some questions maybe you wonderful people can answer.
Thank you!
- What is the acceptance rate for Graduate Certificate? Is it as hard to get in as taking masters degree?
- Did someone here already take this? Any tips for someone starting out my journey in computer science. I do not have actual in depth IT background. Just self thought and some cloud certificates. I wanted to take this course to go in depth and maybe pursue my masters in computer science or data analytics after this
1. I dont think anyone has a clear idea on the acceptance rate for this and only NUS can answer this. But from the modules I have attended so far, I observe that there is a good mix of grad cert students, parttime/fulltime masters students.
2. The modules are exactly the same as those taken by their full time masters student (same exam, lectures, lecturer). I would think the grad certs are more of a foundation for further studies in CS and if you are looking to really focus on data analytics alone then it might be more worthwhile to pursue a specialist diploma or other online courses to pick up data analytics skills.
Of course, if u convert to masters later on, there is possibility to take up specialized modules in data analytics. There is also the option to take up their masters in business analytics. One way to decide is to look at their syllabus (https://msba.nus.edu.sg/programme/curriculum/) and attend their info sessions
