I think certain countries have higher quality granite for tiling. Some countries may have fancy, rare colours, durability I am not sure. Black ones are called black galaxy, the lesser crystals ones are even harder.

Porcelain tiles are almost 100% non permeable to water, it is one grade higher than homogeneous tiles.
Just like our made in SG slogan lor. My concern is cracked concrete lines for normal wear and tear by itself commonly found in residential houses. Thus, granite made for its durability. Then I'd consider granite is many grades higher than homogeneous/ normal tiles. Hardly see dislodgement of granite tiles but very common for normal/ homogeneous tiles for dislodgment of tiles issue. If got the budget, granite is a very good choice

The in-trend colour should be gray for shopping malls and houses

If you opt for granite, best you get those dark colour type. The one that gave me problem is a light medium brown type with lots of impurities, from china.

Shopping malls grey granite cfm also China made what. It's the same granite. It's only the country of origin that determine the quality build of granite but generally speaking, any granite for which this material of tiles is build to last

I heard china granite are lower grade mostly, so the cheapest. Either colour not nice or relatively porous or both. Porous one remember to reseal every 1-2 years, that cost money and inconvenience. Dun end up like me, every day got sand come out until have to hack off.

I replaced with Spanish porcelain tiles. No maintenance needed and looks elegant. Not as expensive as reasonable quality granite also

I think u guys are scaring TS.

I am a firm supporter of natural stones and have installed granite and marble at my place or workplace.

TS is making the best choice to install natural stones. Marble for home use is very sufficient because it is hardy and usually nothing in a home can crack it unless it is another natural stone and heavy item.

Granite even harder. Just go to any MRT station and see their flooring. All types of footwear, PMA and PMD, after work construction works putting all sort of hard tools on the floor.

May I even suggest, take this opportunity to change your kitchen top to granite as well. U wont regret it

Not countertop?

China granite also not cheap either... where got cheap China granite deals? All exp both china granite and marble. I personally think it is more for the additional shipping cost for the "quality of granite" from the various country of origin
