Gree's chairwoman Dong Mingzhu realised that the demand for air-conditioners in S'pore was healthy and the pie was big enough for another brand

She’s right
A lot of gian png here
Buy cheap stuff, then faster spoil then regret. Big market here
You know which market outside china is biggest for gree? Laos
Actually the biggest market is always in China itself, any 1 province's population is larger than most small sized countries.
China's largest market is not S.E.A, it's Africa

I think if it's cheap enough, still will have ppl willing to buy the AC especially if it's for shops or commercial that's on short lease. Gree AC market quite huge in china especially Guangdong , a lot of large portable AC in restaurants are this brand

Is the quality as good or better than other Japanese aircon brands, it’s not just be cost competitive when the quality sucks.

People are more concerned about after service regarding air conditioner. So far no brands can offer the solution.

Just look at how decathlon filled the gap in the sports market.

never tried any Prism devices before

couple of years back, I looked at their tv , the specs were good for the price but reviews were mixed
I ended up buying a traditional brand instead
My dad had a prism tv that he bought against my advice, and turn out it spoil quite fast. Not sure of the model though.

for brands I’ll rather pay more for honest trusted brands. I’m not a technical person but generally just go for what most others buy. Mitsubishi for aircon, hitachi for fridge, Sony for tv, wd for hdd, msi for mobo, bosch for washing machine and dryer.

Can’t say they are fully reviewed to be best but at least when spoil tends to have better servicing rather than obscure brands that makes you vomit blood

Dont think anybody will value a tiong brand over Jap one...
Depends on the price saving. Let’s say it cost only 10-20% of the price, but maybe can last you 9-12 months or longer, will you consider? Some might

but if the savings is only 10-20% less, eg cost 80% of the good brands, then I’ll say definitely not worthwhile the risk and be careful of those reviews.
