Now most ADs no more G bid hence consumers MUST ensure in sale agreement

=> if max NG bids no-go, sale can be cancelled, the dealer must refunds the customer’s deposit and both go their separate ways

Did the sales mentioned date line for this one bid guarantee? Was in VW show room last weekend, they are committed one bid guarantee and mentioned end of april 2019 can get the car if sign on the dotted line.

After VW, went to MB showroom and both stated the same.

All is stated in the sales agreement.

Therefore, make sure all write clear clear on the sales agreement.
I understand some PI chiu pattern. Even said is one bid guarantee. They did not said when they go in to bid for you... :s13::s13:

did both ADs mentioned committed the dateline for one bid guarantee COE?
or only committed to one bid guarantee COE and estimated dateline for car collection?

For VW, they will write clearly on the purchase agreement the date of collection is 30th Apr take car if i place dp last Sunday. Till today, they still called me.

To me, whether one bid or what is no meaning liao in VW case, cos i suspect they have readily COE on hand and desperate for numbers. :s12::s12:

My mistake, for MB case is end of July take car cos no stock. :(:(

Why not when even under current COE amount, the basic cost is only 120k. Sell you at 133k, still make about 10k.

They always have ready open cat to deliver immediately. DEMAND that or walk away. They are not the only shop selling car. Basically

Guaranteed = they have too much coe on hand and looking to get some sales going.

Non guaranteed = they are not desperate to hit sales target and looking to make more money out of you. If coe goes up they will call you to see if you are willing to top up(test your gancheongness). If coe does down they MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT deliver to you, especially if yours is under 3 or 4 bids kind of deal. They can say sorry didnt bid enough coe coz a lot of cars need. They might even have the cheek to test you see if you are willing to top u for priority delivery. If coe crashes and drop a large amount, they will fast fast deliver to you(no deduction whatsoever), in this case basically using you as an insurance to guard against increases so since it decreases, it means they make more. Either way they have tricks to test you and see if they can screw you. Only sign when they promise a immediate delivery or by next coe bidding.

Hey guys!

This will be my first time being actively involved with my parents to purchase a new car from AD, and I would like to understand clearly all the jargons used during car-purchase so I can assist my parents to make a more informed decision and not impulse signing.

I'm a little confused about the Guaranteed vs. Non-guaranteed COE portion. I'll take Nissan's 22 Feb 2018 price list as a reference from the bids/months.I think I got the rough gist of it?

Guaranteed (6 rds, but no no. of bids?): Pay additional $3K, COE rebate @ $28,000.
Advantage: 100% will get car - if COE goes up, you earn because you locked the price.
Disadvantage: If COE down, AD earns.

Non-guaranteed (8 rds, but no no. of bids?):
Advantage: No additional top up.
Disadvantage: AD bids as and when they want and will "play the top-up game" with you, asking if you want to top up some $ to get the COE.

There is something about the COE rebate that if COE at the point is lower than the rebate, they will refund the excess. Please correct me if I'm wrong and I appreciate inputs from you guys! Thank you!
They will refund you excess? You tan ku ku. It just goes into their pocket as more earnings. Why would they want to put into your pocket instead of theirs?

Looking at Nissan qashqai! Tan chong. What does SE stands for?

I was speaking to my dad and he was adamant that guaranteed Coe means AD will bid open cat, but I'm pretty sure that's not the case... Which brings me to this question, how does the bidding department decides which cat to bid?
SE stands for sales executive.

Just to share some recent experience. Deposit made to Tan Chong for 8 bids non guaranteed, COE rebate at 29k during Motorshow on 11 Jan. AD successfully got my 35k COE on 22 Jan (dropped by maybe $300 from earlier round). Collected my car on 1 Feb. This is my first new car purchase. The whole process was rather smooth.
