Hi I was wondering if there would be any difference if I signed on before enlistment vs I get SPF assigned to me for ns. Like training or pay wise

First difference would be your rank, you will pass out of training as SGT2 (since you are poly grad) as compared to people who were conscripted who will pass out as Special Constable (SC) and will later be promoted to SC/CPL or SC/SGT nearer to ORD.

Next difference is you are serving your NS co-currently with your Regular service. Meaning you are doing a full time job while carrying out your NS duties. Hence you are drawing full salary from SPF (around $1,900-$2,600 per mth) instead of a monthly allowance (around $560- $1200 depending on rank and vocation)

Adding on, you got bond of 5 years as compared to the rest who just do 2 years of service.

Training wise, you will still go though the same POBC as the NSFs but unlike NSFs who after POBC may be posted to other units to receive their vocational training, regulars will almost always be staying in HTA for an additional 3 months for GRF (Ground Response Force) training as that is the standardised first posting for regulars. Regulars have their own intakes and classes separate from the NSFs if I'm not wrong but sometimes they have their POP together with the NSFs.

No. That depends on your vocation, usually NPCOs get a chance to get the license.

Your instinct may be right. Now they taking in more SPF ppl for NSPI liao. Good and bad, bad is garbage recruit also can get in. Means standard dropping liao, from what I last heard from my CM now standard drop alot liao. My POBC score 94.+ want to smell the interview seat also don't have. My batch was super competitive.

Can I ask if there is spectacles claim for SPF NSFs? What are the details of the claim? I will be enlisting to HTA on 9 Oct and need to change my spectacles to be all black frame. If there is spectacles claim, how can I be eligible to claim? If I want to claim it, should I buy my new spectacles before I enlist or after I enlist or does it not matter?

CCTV operator, Staff Assistant, Community Engagement Officer and Support&Technical.

Can someone confirm this?

also heard that if the location is v far/inconvenient then just lie abit during the interview so that you won't get it. If multiple divisions/vocations(?) accept you, will you then get a choice which to accept?

Based on what I've seen, and what some of my friends tell me, PES C people normally get posted to Staff Assistant. I'd say about a good chance you will get posted to that vocation. S&T are normally reserved for VCs.

They are still discussing. Might be true in the future but for now not yet.
