Of course it is possible to hand paint, but you will need more time than using air-brush ( ab ) or spray can....

Good luck! and dont forget to show us once its done

Still thinking to get it :o , how much does a average paint cost? Is the some paints where i can just spray can it? Try to achieve a metalic finish on it. But rather new in this painting operation.

spraycans will be costly in the long run compared to ab.
i have done up a hg sinanju and a mg sazabi using spraycans, quality is not as nice as ab but if you wan spraycan metallic finish/candy gloss finish, you can refer to the following links (if you dun mind my humble work)

1) hg sinanju click here

2) mg sazabi click here

Hi, just place an order on MG sinnaju. Was wondering if i using spraycan for metallic finish i can basically just spray all the red parts when it is in the runner?

What is the different layer of spraying?

Suggest u cut out e parts, trim n sand e nub then start your spraying.
Layer of spraying will b primer--> gloss black --> chrome-->clear color of your choice.

Primer is base coat. Usually used to check for visible flaws as well as to allow subsequent co t of paint to stick better to the parts.
As for top coat. There are generally three types
Matt, semi gloss n gloss. There are used to achieve desired surface finish. U can read to here for more info.

Ah, read that before. But thanks for the advise on premier.

still have a couple of questions tho

1. Is it cheaper to hand-paint or spray if i'm only going to paint this 1 kit?

2.If i hand paint do i still need preming?

3.To paint the emblem part do i need to Premier > gloss black > hand paint the gold part? Or i could instally hand paint it?

4.Say if i want to paint the inner frame do i still go thru the same route? Or can i just spray paint it? With say silver or gunmetal?

Thanks thanks.

1. if only one kit, handpaint cheaper (do note, imho, its harder to handpaint than using the spraycan as you might get brushmarks more)

2. priming acts as a base coat for subsequent paints. i have seen cases where pple wanna paint white over red parts (without primer) and end up, the part become pink. suggest u try painting on the unwanted runners to see if you can get the results you wan first.

3. you can choose either but gloss black will be able to bring out the bling-ness of gold paint.

4. once again, i would like to mention primer acts as a base coat to allow subsequent paint to stick better.

my 4 cents
