I got some really urgent questions I'm hoping someone can advice me. I've tried painting for the first time and I'm almost done but..

1. I read that gloss coat will dull metallic paint. I'm seriously puzzled. Because right now almost my whole unicorn is in metallic paint (legs are sliver leaf and body and head while it's titanium sliver). If I give it a gloss coat before I move on to panel line and whatnot, what can I do? I really don't want the paint to dull. But it's really irritating that I can't do it now. Any advice? OR should I just go ahead?

2. Panel lining. The paint kinda went over the lines and thus, the wash won't flow smoothly (I'm speculating. It's from what I see.) Either that, or I just use the normal panel line marker and just trace is and try to lighten it to look better. My friend did advice me on using my hobby knife and try to scrape out the paint from it though.

3. I intend to do a gloss coat ( see first question) and then stickers and panel line and then finally a flat coat. I know the psychoframe can't be topcoated otherwise it will look foggy. My question is what if the topcoat seeps into the piece even after masking? Can I remove it using lacquer thinner?

Any advice anyone?

2. gloss coat the parts so the paint flow easier. or dilute ur enamel paint more. at worst just brush through the entire line then clean up

1. not familiar with silver leaf. I am using Gaia note paint
2. u can traverse the line with a paint brush, just need to use enamel thinner to clean off the excess

1. That's the Tamiya Spray Can paint. I saw some old posts from hobbyart's blog.. someone mentioned that they use sliver leaf (it's a sliver color that's super shiny) and when they topcoated it it became dull.

2. Sometimes it doesn't stick well.. But okay. I'll see how it goes.

3. just clean off the flat coat with thinner will do.

Ohhhh that's cool too! I'm also quite a noob myself coz I recently started spray painting. Currently working on the PG version while waiting for my LED kit to arrive sometime this week.

Gonna be plenty of trials and errors for me since I'm looking for ways to turn it's clear psychoframe parts glittering when the LED turns on just like how it appeared in the OVA.

kaixax555, can describe what u feel is different between the china version and Bandai? Will it stop u from getting from Bandai?

For Dragon Momoko, mainly design. It really beats the Bandai version hands down. Plastic wise it is pretty decent, though to me model kits don't have particularly strong plastics anyway.

And nope, it won't stop me. My mainstay is RG kits and I would probably buy them if I really like it. For china versions, I would only buy if they are really attractive to me. This Strike caught my attention for being so good looking.

I learnt new methods of how to remove seam lines so I guess I should apply to my next model lol.

And I think I could be more efficient with Gunpla building. The method I use took a really long time lol.
