what cleaning solution u guys use? can use the cleaning pot when changing color in between?

I use industrial thinner for general cleaning of airbrush.
I also have gaia note tools cleaning solution for soaking the parts if it gets too choked up.


cleaning pot is just a container with a filter. u still need to run thinner through ur airbrush to clean the airbrush

Probably I am kiasi, when I am switching colours, I will strip down the brush.

My cleaning solutions comprises of AAA thinner and Gaia Notes tool wash. Can grab the AAA thinner from paint shops, just buy the big tin, about $12 - $14 each. It will last you for a long time.

gaia tools wash is a lot stronger.
the fumes can make my eyes tears

i use industrial grade thinner to clean my airbrush after each use. so far no issues.

The industrial thinner is Lacquer base? if i use acrylic paint , is it ok to use the thinner for cleaning? any brand that i should be looking at?

are the Lacquer base thinner corrosive (not good for drain pipe)?

am getting AB real soon, so want to learn more on the cleaning, thinning of paint etc.

u have to get the correct kind of thinner for ur paint.


u are referring to aqueous acrylic paint? I have not tried it, but u shld be able to use lacquer thinner for cleaning it.


so far I do not have the need to pour thinner down drain pipe. for cleaning, u usually just use a bit on toilet paper or cotton bud to clean ur airbrush. u also run thru airbrush with thinner and spray into toilet paper. so there shldnt be any thinner that u need to pour away

Mr Hobby's Mr Color paints and Gaia Notes. Both are lacquer based.
