Okay, so I tried TS-84 Metallic Gold on the HGUC Banshee Gundam [Unicorn Mode] to get a feel on the colour turn out as compared to the regular TS-21 Gold.
Here's the attempt at comparison picture. Since that's the only camera I have, I hope the difference can be seen at least:
- Left: TS-84 on Banshee, Right: TS-21 on Unicorn -
Both has TS-14 Black base and has not been topcoated as per Tamiya's recommendation on the can's cap. While it is clear that TS-21 is a darker, bolder gold color whereas TS-84 is lighter and mild, TS-84 has a much more smoother feel when spraying and the end result of the applied coat is also silkier and coherent as compared to TS-21 which might accumulate in blobs near the edge when spraying and has a botchiness textured look when dried.
A good representative of how TS-84 looks like in real life is:
I would say that both is not as "bling" as the other gold spraycans used by other member and won't provide a very reflective surface but if you're looking for a sophisticated and refined gold colour, TS-84 can be a worthy investment. I enjoyed using it more than other Metallic colour spraycans but of course, this is just my experience while using them and can differ per individual's preferences.
