Anyone know if mr color spraycan is lacquer type or not? Cuz im gonna spray a flat clear with my gaia lacquer, unsure if will be alright

yup should be lacquer, or at least lacquer resistant...... been using decants with my old spray cans and thinning with lacquer thinner for airbrushing

if you scared then buy gunze topcoat, the sky colour small can that is an acrylic topcoat, works well for it too

Hey, thnx alot. Im normally using airbrush but ran out of white paint. I found out that I still have the old spraycan so yeah I was thinking of using them both.

ur white need to be gloss, if not u have to gloss coat the surface before doing enamel wash.

are u using lacquer based paint or enamel paint for the white? and wat solvent are u using to do the wash?

guess i need a gloos white.

Got gloss topcoat before u apply e enamel?
Rg freedom imho is very nice to display, hope u can finish it soon.

6 months down the road still counting

trying to redo some white parts.

looks neater now. this week if not lazy can move on to the wings...

recommends acrylic or oils for handpainting. its easier and less volatile than lacquer. enamel is slow drying therefore smoother finish if you let it set. acrylics if artist grade are very smooth and quick drying. i recommend daler rowney from artfriend or lifecolour from mws

personally i use lifecolours for handpaint and enamels for weathering.

Do I have to prime before hand painting? What is the recommended water/thinneraint ratio?
