Thanks for the heads up! What is difference between the 2 models?

Both material and cutting strength are the same.
The difference between them is the spring material & handle color.
SP-23 is using metal spring & SP-33 is using plastic spring.

SP-23 seems to have a better spring strength then SP-33 because it's using metal spring.
But for SP-33, the plastic type of spring design is quite unique also and it's actually removable which is good for people who don't like having a spring.

Both models are pretty worth it in terms of price over quality ratio and furthermore is really made in Japan. Definitely can on par or even win those overpriced "branded" ones which most ppl are using nowadays.. Just chose 1 and you won't disappointed.

Anyway market nowadays for tools mostly is made in China or Taiwan which quality really not there.. Try a real Japanese tool and feel the difference! Haha..

some experienced modellers says yes, but im still using a $3 wire cutter from hardware shop Works fine, though i might upgrade soon... the cut isn't very clean.

I agree.. I'm using Tamiya sharp pointed side cutter ($48), and it's very sharp... I think it's a good investment, since it can last more than 10 boxes of MG kits... mine lasts 1 RG, 5 MG, 1 PG, still counting. but try not to buy the lower end products of tamiya, like the basic tool set (nipper + cutter + screwdrivers + files), since they're basically cheap stuffs that are labeled tamiya. I don't think they're worth the price. better get the $48 cutter instead.

oh and when I went to Japan, I bought another side cutter, it was around JPY 1600, which is much cheaper than $48 retail price in Sg.

Hi Guys! Since you all are mentioning about plastic nippers here, I will like to recommend below 2 models which I have been using since I started my modeling hobby. I bought both for around $20+ each last time which I think it's really very reasonable price compared with those $40+ cutters u guys discuss here.

They are 100% made in Japan by a company called 3.PEAKS. They are very famous cutters & pliers manufacturing company in Japan because of their workmanship and quality. Personally after using them for so long, the blades are still very sharp and leaves very clean cut. Blades have not rust yet cos its stainless steel material which is a plus point too.

I did some research and found out there's a local distributor for this brand in Singapore call Ekon Hardware. You guys can give them a call for more information.

Thank you guys for the recoomendations Anyway went to Gundam Expo took a look and enquired that a set of markers is ard $20.75, individual marker (only grey) is $3.15, and nipper or cutter they called it for $13? I called Ekon hardware, and was told there are several types like dunno how many mm, and need to go down have a look.

I got my first Strike Freedom MG from the Gundam Expo and wanna make it good, and think wanna get a proper set of tools like plastic nipper, sand paper to smooth surfaces, and black marker to have a go at it first for a newbie start

Huge. This is 1/60 NoGrade. Perfect grade has much more detail and articulation. Price also big difference.

if pg also has the amount of bling bling the ng has, then u can expect the price of the pg sf to be awesome too.

to add on, NG no inner frame. pg sf can light up its eyes and head sensors only.

Don't seem worth it. Get the Chinese magazine + conversion at $25, then get the kit from HAG at $20++. End up overall still cheaper and u get a hobby magazine to boot.

For those who are asking what is the difference between PG Strike Freedom and this, yes, the articulation and internal skeleton details are different... The most obvious difference is the internal lighting... Only manage to build mine halfway, but u can see the lighting effect (its bright, trust me....)

hey guys, if I use decal softener over decals that are over lapping each other, would it affect the position of the decals? is it a must to use decal setting solution too before or after applying decal?
