hi guys , im currently new to this. I decided to build gundam seriously from now on , as i didnt when i was a kid. Which grade should I start on? And what tools should I use and any tips for building Gundams?

Building gundams are pretty straightforward , I'd recommend you to start on hg kits to learn the basics like clearing nub marks etc before moving on to more advanced kits like MG or RG grade since those are more expensive. If you are interested in painting, starting on SD kits are a good option to try painting as they Are small and easier to paint compared to most hg kits which require masking etc for smaller parts. After you learn all the basics, you can go on to mg or rg kits, mg are more e pensive but I find them easier to build than rg.
You can find many tips on starting this hobby online, just do a Google search for gunpla tutorials.

What kind of tools? The basic tools you really need are a pair of flush cutters and a hobby knife and some sandpaper. I got my flush cutters online for about 3sgd, before I was using daiso nippers which did not give a clean cut. You can get an xacto knife at art friend for about $6 or less. You can use daiso hobby knife, but I recommend the xacto knifes as they are the cheaper brand of precision knives and are sharper and can last longer. Sandpaper use 500grit to sand away nubs followed by 1000 or above grit to smoothen the surface

This is 1 of the lesser parts to paint for me. quite ok to do it. added the metal decals from samueldecals. my 1st try at decals.

The main kit nothing much to paint. the backpack is like....FAINT...Especially white on black parts is ridiculous....cos i never prime.

Bro u can scout around the sales thread maybe there may be cheap deal.. I start with 1 SD before do 2 HG then I start MG.. HG I think the most 20 or 30.. don't worry so much it's snap fit and damn easy to do.. I teach my 12 years old nephew to fix gundam and now he can fix a MG i gave him within a day.. after only experience of fixing 1 HG I gave him.. and that tell you alot..

So far the only hard part for me is those tiny little water slide decal need alot of time to paste.. currently pasting a ver ka stein and it's pain in the butt sitting hours there trying to get it right.. fixing is the easy part for me.. very straightforward..

So far I find sanding down the nubs is the most tedious and takes the most time. Next is the waterslide decals. I would say for a HG model, sanding takes up 60-70% of time, decals 20%, painting less than 10%, assembly less than 5%.

I haven't even tried fixing MG yet, still practicing my sanding and airbrush skills on cheap HG kits. Bought many $10 HG kits during the Sheng Tai warehouse sale, good for practicing.

Sorry guys for disturbing again but which do you recommend for HG ? The 1/144 scale or the 1/100 scale? And which is less needed to paint?

Since u are just starting just get the cheaper one which is 1/144. Actually painting is not really needed, people only do it when they want a custom color scheme.

Yes they use registered SAL for that.

bro, 1/144 and 1/100 HG tend to have quite a few stickers for different part that is not correctly mould into it's original color. If you wish to practice with painting can try SD.. I usually don't paint the whole kit, only parts that are not correctly mould into correct color.. and i handpaint because I try not to mess up the whole room with spray job.. spray paint is definately not for me so I hand painting everything I have.. from SD to resin kit.. I am just a casual hobbyist so maybe u should ask expert here.. it's damn fun.. once u buy the first 1 ur keep buying haha.. believe me..

For me I only shipped via SAL once and hell it's a pain just to wait for it to arrive.. Cheaper kits maybe u can use SAL. I think I waited 3 weeks for my HG tallgeese III. So nowadays if I want to order from HLJ I will use EMS.. yes it's more expensive but it is more reliable and faster..

Not sure about hlj but I have used hobby search and amiami unregistered SAL many times and the item always arrive within 10days counting weekends.
