yes thats the model. i use an airbrush to paint my kits now, using a mixture of gaianotes and mr colour paints

Hi guys, first time in gundam thread. Watch the gundam build fighters with gf and we're interested in the bear guy san. Hope some lao jiaos can help me on this.

Is Takashimaya the cheapest? And what's the recommend price for this? Paiseh, Idk about the price of gunpla as some really cost hundreds.
Is there a diff between hk and japan stock?
And do i really need to spray to achieve the colours closest to the anime or the base colours of bear guy san is close already to the original anime?

I collect other toys too but first time into gunpla. Can't believe i actually love gunpla! Thanks guys!

Hello xKomon, it's nice to see that you enjoy GBF, which truly has been quite the entertaining Gundam series.

Regarding the ever adorable Beargguy-san III, you may find the kits at most retail outlets but I personally recommend visiting the specialized hobby store, namely:

Hobby Art Gallery - Dhoby Ghaut OR Macherson

Orbe Station - Jurong East

Personally, Bearrguy-san III kit is very basic, in comparison to many other High Grade Gundam kits, so the price should be between SGD30 - SGD40. However, it is a very popular release and I'm not surprised if it's sold out. So, please check by calling before you head down to buy.

The kit is molded in the colours seen in the anime, so you do not need to go and spray the kit, especially since this will be your first kit for now. You just need to apply the stickers for the eyes and no cotton stuffing is required

You can also ask them for the Gundam Panel Line Markers - Black colour, as featured in that video.

I hope you and your GF enjoy making your cute kits.

PS: The person in the video used a Hobby Side Cutter, which gives a cleaner plastic parts cutting than if you used a nail clipper or similar.

I was intending to head down to Hobby art @ work tomorrow since their HAG outlet is closed on monday. I went Taka this afternoon and beargguy san was retailing at $38.95 which is quite steep i guess.

I see, so its great that i don't have to spray it then.

The gundam black marker featured in the video, is there only one size? And roughly how much isit?

I have some side cutter at home which i use to cut my tamiya 4wd in the past, was thinking if i should invest in a new one or proceed with my old pair hmm...

Taka selling for 39? That's not that bad though maybe HAG sells it for 32-33?

The only other cheaper option is to purchase directly from Japan online stores, like Hobby Link Japan or Hobby Search. It's cheaper if you buy multiple kits after considering the shipping costs. Currently, the bear is so popular they're waiting for restock though.

And for Gundam panel line markers, only comes in 1 size but has a range of 3 different colours like the picture shown; black, grey and brown. Black would be enough. It's around 4.90-5.90 per marker.

There's cheaper ones sold in Popular or other book shop, maybe like 2 bucks but it's trial and error. Copic brand at 0.3mm and smaller would be okay.

Don't confuse the panel line markers with Gundam Color markers though. Those coloured thick-tip ones are mostly for painting in small details.

And your cutter, if it works fine, should be enough unless in the future you're planning to get more kits.

Pros; comes w decals applied, can mix n match parts to get diff variant weapons. Color separaration gd. Comes a weapon racks that can stack up

Cons: nubmarks present as some parts are in runners. need to paint over to cover nubmarks.

Hmmm.. i'm looking for those really thin markers. As for cutters do you have any recommendations? I dont think the current i have is smooth enough to make a clean plastic cut.
