anyone knows that if taiwan have some mini/portable cheap aircompressor % airbrush that i can look into? :s22:

EDIT: i look into the compressor alittle more and base on my needs i figure a mini should be fine.

Was wondering will this work? If i have space constraint and not gonna spraypaint alot.

Been using this, pressure is much lower than 25. Can use for normal colors, buy metallic tends to choke unless you dilute the mixture a lot.

Can this compressor work for like 2 hours? Other than metalic color is the finish smooth?

2 hours can lah but the qc will differ from each set. Recommend you to to SLT and source for another adaptor cos the one provided burns easily. The whole compressor can get very very hot.

Finishing wise will be rougher, but smoother than spray cans once you get the hang of it.

Oh ok, already order one through taobao agent. Just a question when airbrushing, with all the different layer will the paint gets really thick and cause the details to be covered or pegs unable to fit? Like spraying from spray can.

Shldnt be an issue since the paint particles from airbrush are quite fine.. actually spray can also no issue unless u spray too close or u using certain industrial grade spray cans

If you spray too thick then it will be like spray can lor. Best is to mask off the pegs. Details wise usually quite safe cos I thin the paint a lot. But for faint details I'll scribe them abit deeper before painting.

If you use a better compressor might be better though.

1, 3, 2.

You panel line already then airbrush, wouldn't that cover your panel lines already?

Of course unless you meant top coat when you say airbrush...

should be

1) prime (primers can be used to check for incontinuities, as its easier to see them having all the same colour.)
2) Panel Line Scribing
3) Prime again [optional if you have check for all incontinuities in step 1) and have not screwed anything up in step 2).]
4) Airbrush
5) Top coat (optional if you are using lacquers or just doesnt bother)
6) Panel Lining(Highlighting the panel lines that were there and those that your have scribed on.)

do you paint your gundams?

i recently cleaned my old MG gundam, just 1 piece but it was really hard to clean with all the angle & narrow gaps, the tissue was brown after wiping.

also the metallic versions silver color will start to fade into black spots after few years. i have the oldest mg gundam metallic, and Z & GP01-FB, all 3 already has black spots.

i'm really sad about it.
